Maybe you guys would have had a chance against Thailand?
I'm 99% sure I would beat Thailand myself at 39..without running..and just chipping/lobbing shots. Hell, I could probably just play goal keeper and score off goal kicks. My travel team would have beaten any US womens national team in history...with our scrubs.

Moral of this story? While 13 goals is cool, its literally a notch above AYSO skill and visions of grandeur should be tempered.

Truth. To quote Metallica, "Sad, but True".

1) even if it's true, which it's probably not, flexing on the USWNT on a message board is much sadder
2) get over yourself
3) the worst NFL team would annihilate the best Tennessee team ever, but watching Tennessee football is still fun
4) can you kick a soccer ball over them mountains, Uncle Rico?

I can kick a soccer ball over the USWNT. Fact. Science.

Womens soccer is a sad spectacle embraced by people bad at soccer.

But they scored 13 goals! They must be better than the men!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol.

Who said that?

If you don't like the sport, don't watch. Even further, don't post in the thread dedicated to it.
I was referring to the general buzz online after the walloping.. mr bama fan posting on a UT forum..

I love soccer and I watched the game..mainly for some sports bra malfunctions. I was quickly reminded of how disparate the female game is to the mens. Probably the widest talent/athletic gap in all of sports. Its no wonder teen boy teams have beaten womens national teams in the past.

This is a matter of how bad does the play have to "look" in order for you to stop watching. I have friends who don't particularly like college football or men's college basketball because the players aren't as good as professional players. Disagree with their tastes, but I get it. The best college team is of course nowhere as well put together as the worst pro team. To me, the quality of play isn't so bad in college that it makes it unpleasant to watch though. In fact, I like college football and basketball more than pro football and basketball.

I draw the line at most women's sports. I actually enjoy watching women's tennis. It's fun to watch. However, the play in women's basketball and soccer is so slow, sloppy, and uncoordinated that it just isn't fun to watch. The talent discrepancies between good teams and bad teams in women's CBB or women's soccer are just gigantic as well. Way beyond anything you see in male sports.

I can enjoy watching the USWNT but too much political stuntery will lose me quicker than lopsided scores or excessive celebration.
