What is the deal with Dylan Sampson not playing??

I wonder if coaches today have to consider which players will be going into the draft and will be encouraged not to participate in their team's bowl game?

I know everyone on the team will want to see Wright get his 1000 yard season, but they may also be presuming that he won't be available to them for the bowl game.

Heupel is a player's coach (which is more important than ever in the portal era) and he will protect his players' careers as best he can.
