We played decent but UK has hit 79% . We’ ve hit 6 threes and are shooting 53%. So our normal D is not clicking. Their kicking it out for 3’s & got away with a lot of off hand push off on drive buckets. Adjust & hope for 2nd half

I’m afraid this turns out like the Jodie Meeks performance but it’s across the entirety of UK’s roster. You say to yourself, well he can’t score 26 in a half again he’ll cool down. Instead he goes for 28 in the 2nd half. Surely they can’t shoot 78% and avg 2.5 pts/minute….

We are shooting 46.2% and down by 14. The chances of us getting run by 30+ are high unless Kentucky starts laying bricks. They are a possible Final Four team. We are mid-tier SEC and can’t compete with only 4 pts and 6 turnovers from Fulky and Nkamhoua. I know BHH has lapses but he can’t be worse than what Fulky is giving us.

Here's the thing, that was truly the absolute worst defense I have seen Tennessee play in the Barnes era. Kentucky also played a flawless half and made nearly every shot they took. I don't expect either of those to continue in the 2nd half, so you'd think I would feel good about our chances coming back, BUT....

....we're shooting 50% ourselves, which is uncharacteristic of this offense, and I expect our percentages to fall a bit as well. So, I don't really know how we get back in this either. Just an awful half.

To put it in perspective, Kentucky shooting 78% in the first half, they average 49% for the season.

A lot of those off our 10 turnovers. Recipe for pain.
