Why do you think Stackhouse will be successful? He is 29-43 at Vandy. Never coached in college before Vandy. Not sure what you are basing that on other than some minor D league coaching success.
All teams pretty much play 10 give me games to start the season, Vanderbilt is 10 and 6 but getting players like Pippen is a huge start at rebuilding.

Growing up in Knoxville we owned Vanderbilt in both basketball and football.
At one point between 1976-1982 we only lost one game to them.

I’m here to tell you about that one loss and what cemented my hatred for Vanderbilt and their fans.
It was Monday night, January 30, 1978, the game was being played really late at Memorial Gymnasium.

Was listening to John Ward call the game on the radio. I was already supposed to be asleep because I had school the next morning.
We were leading by a big margin after the first half, but Vandy was creeping back. Close to the end of the game the Vols were still leading but the game had to be stopped multiple times because Vandy fans were throwing oranges on to the court, and every time it took awhile to clean it up, not a few oranges but tons. You could hear the disgust in John Wards voice. Finally the game ended on a half court shot as time ran out by Bert Bertelkamp but it wasn’t enough,Tennessee lost 55-56, (today that shot would have been worth 3 points instead of 2.)

I'm actually really surprised at what the line is for this game. This should be a double digit points win.

Please don’t set unrealistic expectations. It’s a road game coming off a brutal stretch of the schedule. They have the pre-season SEC POTY on their team. This is NOT a “should be” double digit win. You’re just saying that so if we win a hard fought game you can come back in here later and bring up Barnes’ salary and say we should expect more from this team.

A win tonight is a good win. I expect us to win. But, I’m not going to be unrealistic and say it needs to be by double digits. Missouri smacked Alabama at home and then went on the road and lost by 40 to 0-3 Arkansas.

No, no im not. I said the same thing before South Carolina. I was honest before the UK game when I said I had no clue what was gonna happen. Vandy has one player, but theyre not a good team.

I’m watching the game tonight at Old Chicago, also other College Basketball games including Kansas vs Oklahoma.

The Volunteers need to rebound after getting steamrolled by the Kentucky Wildcats.

Vandy had to cancel a game due to COVID I believe in the 2020-21 season

We were supposed to play @ Vandy last year on Jan. 12 and it got canceled, then things got moved around that we hosted Vandy 4 days later, then finally played at Vandy on Feb. 24.

HaslemMetrics and Barttorvik both have this as a 4pt game, KenPom has it as a 5pt game, Vegas who has big shiny buildings for a reason says it’s a 6pt game…yet you claim it should be double digits. This is that whole overhype/unreal expectations thing, like claiming it’s a Top 5 roster nationally when literally nobody nor any analytic data agrees.

Because of the D league success and his success at UNC as a player. He will attract some good recruits.
I didn’t say he would win a NC or anything, I just said he would be successful.

UT already has trouble scoring, and with this game being in Vandy's gym, don't be surprised when it gets ugly. I just hope the Vols' defense gets the stops they need to keep Vandy down.
