Coach Barnes needs to find him a few Grant Williams/Admiral Schofields who can man up, post up, dunk the ball, and generate some fear in our opponents minds. This team we have right now has speedy little guys who are not consistent scorers and young making a lot of mistakes, mid size guys who just do not seem strong enough or coordinated enough, Fulky who has heart but no beef, and Plav who has beef but no coordination/lacking experience. Don't get me wrong, love these guys and on a hot shooting night we can beat anybody. We just continue to look for the beef and physicality and we ain't got it. Maybe more biscuits and gravy and more strength and conditioning (agility drills, hand and eye coordination) is needed. Go Vols! Shoot'em straight!

This unfortunately is probably not beef night since LSU leads the nation in limiting success on post ups, etc. They give up a ton of open threes and foul a lot though, so I think we basically need to do what we did last time but shoot better and turn the ball over less so we can help out our defense. We can go back to the post for actual scoring next game

They have to learn to take what the defense is giving them. There are reasons a defense plays the way they do. What are they not protecting, that’s where the coaches and players on the bench can make differences in the game. Keen observation…

Maybe Barnes will wake up, get outa the chair and coach today... Would be good to see the Vols finally start to play with some confidence and gel as a team, which they should be by now, but have been clearly regressing. Just keep it close is all I'd ask at this point.
I disagree about regressing. UT is playing better offense lately, which was really their only weakness. Today we should see the Vols scoring in the paint more and relying less on the 3, although it will still be a major part of the offense.

I think CRB may finally have his starting lineup figured out.

The 4 posts played 68 minutes at Bama.
Ok? I didn’t say every game, over the last 5 games majority of his minutes over that span has come at the 4. Yes, singularly the Bama game he did not, but even including the Bama game on the whole over that span he’s played more 4 than any other position. Against Bama we had no Chandler which pushed JJJ to the 3 more.

Would be nice to see a few fans out of their seats, too.

Frustrating as students were not allowed to move into dorm rooms unit Friday. Yet there was an issue for students to obtain tickets for the game. Hopefully (the above) it was an isolate incident as this is a big game.

We have to win our Next 3 SEC games to keep up in the league standings....good thing they are all at home. Got to get that double bye in the SEC tournament or atleast the opening bye.

I don't think we can beat LSU. They are very long. Bad matchup for us with limited inside presence.

Strangely enough, depends on Uros and Olivier. Fulky isn't healthy enough and Huntley-Hatfield needs more experience.

LSU doubly. 67 minutes to the 4 posts. I don’t remember ever playing one of them at the 3.

A win today changes the current narrative of the whole season. Right now it's like last season, start fast, finish meh. This could really turn things around and change that outlook. A win would make it a perfect CBB day since Kentucky already lost.

Over the last 5 he’s averaging 20mpg at the 4, which is the majority of his minutes…I never commented about specific games?

Is there a web site with the breakdown?

I don’t think he played the 4 at Vandy unless it was for a minute. He started and Fulk/BHH subbed early for ORN/UP. There were 7 minutes not played by the 4 big posts so somebody else is playing some “4”. Maybe Powell since he had a lot of minutes. Mashack possibly for a few. But really, a lot of JJJ’s time at the 4 is really only on the defensive end. He’s more like a 4th guard than a second post on offense. I’d like to see him under the basket more and on the 3-PL less.

I still wonder how much single post TN will play. Plav and BHH are seeing a bit more time and I’ll bet that Fulk’s minutes gradually increase.
