The Official #3 Tennessee vs. #11 Michigan NCAA Tournament Game Thread, 5:50 PM ET, CBS

Very young team, especially after Olivier went down.

ZZ, KC, Santi & BJ next year would be an even better group of guards.
They are so young, and I hope they are ALL back. KC didn't look like he wanted this to be his last game as a VOL.

This was not just about not being able to hit threes. There were significant stretches of this game that Michigan got any shot they wanted. Also, Michigan was able to run our guards off the three point line all night. Vescovi might have got two good looks the whole game. There is a reason we shot a low percentage. Rick got seriously outcoached in this one too.

We were not going to win playing an inside game. That is not our game. Our offense is making 3s. Pretty sure we had a stretch where ZZ and JJJ had wide open looks in the corner for 3s. Both guys have been making those shots the past month. Today they did not. It really comes down to making shots. All the idiots blaming coaching are just clueless. I guess it was bad coaching when we were up 6pts and KC dribbled off his foot.

So Michigan played disciplined defense to keep it at 6 fouls? It happens. Michigan certainly outplayed TN. in the last 7 minutes. You cannot blame it on refs so why bring up the discrepancy in fouls. It doesn’t matter.

It does matter, you must’ve not watched Dickinson hack our guys all night. Michigan pkayed probably their best game all year and had a very favorable whistle.

ROFL, you are so naive.

Chandler was fouled twice underneath the basket and wasn’t called.

If you think it had no impact on the game then you’re truly special.

Vescovi was all over the court making plays. What’re you talking about?
He couldn’t keep up with his man. His guy constantly went right by him. To be fair he wasn’t alone there though. But he also couldn’t get loose to get any good looks. Credit Michigan on that. They were quicker and worked hard to keep V in check.

Uros plays the best game of his career and the hate still glows - unbelievable

You just helped make my point. Uros’ best game of his career is scoring 9 points lol. He’s simply not a SEC starting caliber player.

And I’m not even a Uros hater. My ealier point is that he is extremely unathletic which I don’t think can be argued and he simply isn’t good enough for us to depend on to take over a game.

Sigh — it hurts my heart. I really like this team, but we got out played. Michigan knew how to handle us AND we couldn’t hit shots.

I think Barnes was nervous about winning. Was afraid Juwan was gonna punch him in the handshake line. I kid, I kid.

Coach Howard consoling KC will run on Sports Center for a while. Can't help but feel sad for him and this team.

i thought the adjustments when we were up 6 were interesting. Both staffs took away what they should have taken away:
1. Michigan took away Chandler drive.
2. We took away the big man.

We didn’t have anyone else step up and they did.

My only complaint about the officials is they called a foul anytime we got close to Dickenson. Most weren’t fouls and none were based on what they go elsewhere. Those calls were ridiculous.

if Barnes didn’t have a 30 some year history of blowing in March I would agree with you.

I think what you, and so many others, seem to forget, is that Barnes HAS a NCAA record. Coaches go their entire career without one. It’s RARE outside of blue bloods (which we can all agree that we, Texas, Clemson, and Providence are) have good NCAA records. Put that in perspective when you talk about Rick’s “awful record” he does well at historical OK programs. We aren’t world beaters and never have. To win a NCAA you have to get lucky and play well every game. Didn’t happen for us. That’s not on Barnes. It’s why your take is old, dumb, and worn out.
