We had one of those game where we didn't make any threes. They decided to almost face guard Vescovi and their big man had a career day. Proud of the SEC Tournament Championship overall a very good season. We were one 2 and 3 In the SEC ended up 14 and 4.

I would agree with you because can’t be disappointed with no expectations going into the Tournament.

I felt the same. I was 1 year old the last time Tennessee won an SEC tourney and will never forget this squad for that run. With that being said, I felt like we were due, headed into the big dance. I didn’t like being one of the “hottest” teams in the country.
It’s tough to keep that momentum going, hats off to those teams that are able to.
Post game thoughts...
Chandler looked extremely upset that it is over.
Was it just me or did Fulky look relieved that it is over?
We will return a very talented core group of guys next year.
I love Rick Barnes, but he’s got to find a way to get over the March hump.
This one hurt bad, but I went into this tournament with zero expectations other than, don’t get bounced in the first round.

Just stop with the excuses. Barnes is a great program builder but he’s never going to take us to the F4 or win the big prize. It’s time we ask ourselves is that good enough or not?

We use Barnes until he retires — he builds the program and expectations and then brings a young big name to continue his dynasty. I personally look forward to Kim English getting some training and then coming back home to Tennessee!

I mean first SECT Championship since 70s. Felt like we were hot at the right time, but guess any given night you can go cold.

The bad 3 ball shooting was the reason we lost all but 1 game this year. It was always the consistent reason why we lost.

Won the SECT & didn’t lose to a Cinderella or in the first round. Hopefully the team grows from it and we see an even better team next year.

Good season all things considered, was worried losing Olivier would derail it. A couple more wins in the Tournament and it would’ve been a great season.

I thought it was a hell of a season. Glad we won the secT. Hard to go deep in the tournament without a well rounded team.

Fr. Guards and SV. SV was awful. Had more trips than points.

Bigs are not good enough. Missed too many shots and if Plastic and Fulky are your best then you're in trouble. I did think BHH was playing better in the 2nd half.

It had an impact on where we could have scored crucial points and have a couple more possessions.

This was no where near a fair officiated game.

They certainly can , but they were zero responsible tonight. It was on the players or Barnes or a combination of both.

I hardly ever comment but Aidoo not playing more confused me so much. I hate to do this because I never like to zero in on a player but Vescovi killed us on both ends of the court. He’s probably my favorite player and due to my frustration, I kept watching him and he was just all out of sorts. Was not moving around on offense, couldn’t stay with his man on defense and just was not confident at all…so weird

I disagree..they had a good scouting report…vesocvi was absent because his man stuck with him and never lost sight of him..on top of vescovi just missing

They got back in it beating us on simple back doors. Dickinson had enough freedom to make pinpoint passes and our guys got beat. When that didn't work, they got timely 2nd chance shots.

Yeah the lack of boxing out was pretty glaring, too.

Hindsight is 20/20 but BHH barely played the 2nd half and Aidoo didn't get in at all.

There are probably a dozen or more calls a night that can determine the outcome of a game and they usually are evenly distributed for both teams.
