Yep and no competition from minor league baseball, like Baton Rouge. If you wanna watch good baseball in those areas, colleges are it.

I dont mean to hit on the Smokies but not having a AAA or AA minor league team in those areas (Baton Rouge is bigger than Knoxville and NE Ark is pretty close if not bigger) helps those programs.

hard to admit, but best baseball fan from Ttown area is Miss State grad (Dad was a football coach). He was faithful SEC tournament ticket holder, later retired in Starkville, and prior to covid,gave us tour of tMSUr baseball facilities.. The few other State grads I know live far from Starkvegas and religiously return forr baseball games. Point is that I hope UT can develop lsuch a large loyal fan base. TV has made giant strides to reach that goal.. That said I'd rather not spend time in Starkvegas..,
