I mean it's no guarantee, it's just my guess. It 100% won't be Tidwell because of short rest, you're likely not going to throw a mid-week starter in Hoover. So, that leaves Heflin and Dallas.
He started the 8th facing the top 3 guys. He was pulled after facing Clark, giving up 3 straight hits and no outs. We'll agree to disagree. That's why you have a set-up man and closer. The deeper your starter goes the more likely he is to get tagged by the lineup. Tidwell started the 8th facing the 8th and 9th batters, so he was about to face the order for a 4th time. That's tough for ANY pitcher to do no matter how good you are.
the top teams do normally throw midweek guys in early games. Keeps guys are normal schedules for NCAA tourney.
Those fighting for bids do throw their top guys early on. The 5, 6 and 7 seeds may throw midweek guy against the Friday guy for 10, 11 12 teams.
That’s not true on the MSU/Vandy seeds I don’t believe. Vandy will only play 29 games so if they go 19-10 and State goes 20-10 State has a better SEC record and win %. Pretty sure at the start of the Vandy game they said they can finish anywhere from 2nd to 4th.Top 4 are set
order tbd
Arkansas
Vanderbilt
Tennessee
Mississippi State
Commodores are down early to UK
Vols will finish 2nd or 3rd
Vanderbilt will finish 2nd or 3rd
Because of tiebreaker, Miss State can’t pass either. Vols win last week against Ark is the tiebreaker.
Miss State’s series win against Ole Miss guarantees 4th spot
Those 4 teams should get half the national seeds
I’m not sure if any of the other teams will host in 2 weeks unless they get hot in tourney or unless they host as 2 seeds
