You can tell Pearl always takes this game personally.. Always good to beat him. His teams always come to play. That was a entertaining game.
From a stats standpoint, you can see that his big games are most from the second half, that he's a highly efficient scorer vs a volume scorer, and that he's a 3-level scorer.
The thing about Knecht that is hard to capture in stats, is that he plays unselfishly within the offense for 60% of the game. Then, at a TV timeout, his teammates, after not finding success on offense as a team, tell him to put his superman cape while they go into supporting him roles (picking, rebounding, spotting up, and cutting to the basket if double teamed). Just amazing to see that dynamic happen in real time and the opposing team being hopeless to stop it.
I liked Bruce. Whole thing was silly. Should have went different but it's on him..Overall, I’m pretty indifferent towards Bruce. His time here was fun and I am thankful for his efforts while he was here, but he left us in a bind. That can’t be forgotten.
Bruce is a great coach, but I’d take Barnes over him every day of the week.
I was at home but basing my comments from my son who is very objective. He had a blast and I’m so happy he has been able to see great basketball and football over the past three yrs. Hopefully we will win a title this yr and football playoffs next yr (his sr yr). .I know, I kept reading in this thread that the crowd was anemic. I’ve seen tweets talking about how loud it was in TBA tonight.
Seriously one of the most fun games I've attended. DK is a generational talent, so every chance to catch him live is a gift.
Live, it looked like Auburn was getting away with murder. Did that translate on TV? Felt like 5 v 8. We played well and it seemed like we should have been up 20+ if the game was called cleanly.
