You can tell Pearl always takes this game personally.. Always good to beat him. His teams always come to play. That was a entertaining game.

Overall, I’m pretty indifferent towards Bruce. His time here was fun and I am thankful for his efforts while he was here, but he left us in a bind. That can’t be forgotten.

Bruce is a great coach, but I’d take Barnes over him every day of the week.

From a stats standpoint, you can see that his big games are most from the second half, that he's a highly efficient scorer vs a volume scorer, and that he's a 3-level scorer.

The thing about Knecht that is hard to capture in stats, is that he plays unselfishly within the offense for 60% of the game. Then, at a TV timeout, his teammates, after not finding success on offense as a team, tell him to put his superman cape while they go into supporting him roles (picking, rebounding, spotting up, and cutting to the basket if double teamed). Just amazing to see that dynamic happen in real time and the opposing team being hopeless to stop it.

The 3-level scoring ability was always there this season, but his growth on the defensive end and with his court vision and BB IQ has been wonderful to see, and will make him an NBA lottery pick. Like you said, he is an extremely unselfish player, but one who can flat out take over a game when called upon.

I'll be watching this one over again tomorrow.

Great effort against an Auburn team that threw everything they had at them. DK is an absolute stud and there’s not much else to say. Impossible to guard when he’s feeling it. Auburn is a great defensive team and they were throwing two guys (and three on one play) at him and still couldn’t stop him. Neither Bama nor KY have anybody that can guard him. As long as we bring our normal defense, I like our chances in all three remaining games.

I know, I kept reading in this thread that the crowd was anemic. I’ve seen tweets talking about how loud it was in TBA tonight.

I was at home but basing my comments from my son who is very objective. He had a blast and I’m so happy he has been able to see great basketball and football over the past three yrs. Hopefully we will win a title this yr and football playoffs next yr (his sr yr). .

Live, it looked like Auburn was getting away with murder. Did that translate on TV? Felt like 5 v 8. We played well and it seemed like we should have been up 20+ if the game was called cleanly.

Idk what’s nastier between DK’s hesi or pull up jumper. It’s impossible to account for both which makes him so hard to guard.

He’s also nearly ambidextrous.

My son texted me just now and said it was the loudest basketball environment he’s attended. He’s a jr at UT and attends most games. He said the atmosphere was insane and the students were rock’n all night.

It was a weirdly called game.

Under the rim, they let Bama get away with way more physicality than us. However, they called a lot of touch fouls 25 feet from the basket on Bama which evened it out fouls.
