The Official #4 Tennessee vs. #5 Duke NCAA Tournament Game Thread, 2:40 PM ET, CBS

Bet against the trend in these situations and win most of the time has been my experience.

Just like Saturday and Duke being the overwhelming, popular $ pick.

“To be the man, you got to beat the man.”

Tennessee played like a top gun team with an impressive great win where they outperformed Duke.
It was very pretty entertaining art.

Plavi was a man among boys today. Sometimes he fouls because he is too rough.
He fouls too often doing something stupid. I’ve been one of his biggest supporters on this forum, but every time he makes a foolish offensive foul (like his first foul of the game where he swung his arms around after securing the rebound) then it’s a turnover which we can’t afford. I’m 100% behind him playing very physical within the rules of the game but those stupid obvious fouls cost us an opportunity to score and scoring enough is our weakness. He’s got to be smarter. Go VOLS!

This is how Volunteers basketball fans feel after watching the watching Volunteers outperform the Blue Devils.

We were ranked #2 in the country at one point so getting to the sweet 16 isn't a great accomplishment based on that...
You win the worst take on March Madness - making the sweet sixteen is always a great accomplishment. Look at all the teams who have been ranked in the top 10 at some point this season who are sitting at home now. Plus the fact we’re playing short handed without our point guard and 2 of our starters are still trying to find their rhythm after missing multiple games due to injury late in the season.

We were ranked #2 in the country at one point so getting to the sweet 16 isn't a great accomplishment based on that...but they surprised everyone based on where they were at gametime. Beating Duke is a big deal ANY YEAR. Plus they were on big winning streak and got back to being the Duke everyone is used to. I thought the ZZ injury was a death knell so I'm pleasantly surprised.
I think it is always a BIG accomplishment to get to the sweet 16, no matter our onetime ranking. Just look at Purdue

You are correct, but I thought ORN speed and athleticism gave their bigs fits.
I think it was just hitting shots, he has gotten those same looks time and time again and missed them. It’s not as if he was driving by them down the lane, he was shooting turnaround J’s and open 3’s, looks he’s gotten all year and can get anytime, the difference was they were falling.

Hopefully he can hit those next game. We are going to need it. I know you compared FAU to Missouri, think we are better prepared for a team of that nature now than when we played Missouri?

Amused at some comments this morning by Dan Wolken and Doug Gottlieb. Both struggling to give Tenn any credit. Whining about physical play. Gottlieb said "Not a fan of dirty play". I'm sure Wolken never played ball but I thought Gottlieb did. Guess they don't realize that basketball can be a contact sport and it ain't the ballet.

Did they did uss the 5th foul call that got changed to a reach in foul in which the guy didn't even commit a foul?
