The Official #4 Tennessee vs. #9 Florida Atlantic NCAA Tournament Game Thread, 9:00 PM ET, TBS

We weren't going to beat KSU, even if we'd won this game. Reason: We have no guards who can take the ball to the rack and score, which is one
of KSU's defensive weaknesses. Kentucky's freshman guard did that a lot in the 2nd half of their game against KSU and MSU's Hogard was a beast
going to the rack--many times. We're just not good enough offensively. We have a good offensive game about one out of three games, and that doesn't cut it. We were very good against Duke and then came back and suxed tonight--and yet it was our 2nd half defense that lost the game.

I wish SV would come back but JJJ, Plavic and his antics, and ON need to go.
I hope those young ones coming in and on the bench have some dog in them.

Seriously, Awaka was 45-76 from the field this year. 60% from the field. True freshman, never was even the third option on the court.

Even if they didn’t like the matchups for Awaka, it was very apparent in the second half that our guys weren’t up to the task and were getting lost/disinterested/burnt on the boards on practically every possession. You had zero to lose by putting Awaka in just to see if he could do something - ANYTHING - to turn the tide. But no, he sat while Uros and ON continued their clown show/no show performance.

This one stings because it was preventable with coaching, effort, and a little bit of an offensive game plan that had a pulse.

Be interesting to see what what happens

If he sees him and the others on the strip or frat house, then they may discuss. Phillips is a bit shy but his plan was one and done. I can say that he is not happy w this season. Look at his body language.

Do JJJ and ON really have another year of eligibility?

If so, they might come back if Barnes wants them, because what else are they going to do? Maybe play somewhere overseas? Maybe....

The effort was atrocious and lot of ball watching. Same time we couldn’t stop the ball, and they could drive and kick. We would over help, and be out of position to rebound.

Awaka could have helped with the board deficit in this game.

yeah someone needs to stage an intervention with Barnes with these timeouts. Idk what the deal is with that.

Yeah, Rick too often is waiting for the TV timeout when he needs to stop the bleeding, tonight was a classic example.
