The Official #5 Tennessee @ #15 Kentucky Game Thread, 7:00 PM ET, ESPN

Nah that team was good. That Oakland dude had the game of his life. Nothing you can do about a guy hitting that many threes while we went ice cold.
Not sure about this year with injuries but y’all def got the right coach. He will get his pick of players who want to play in that offense.

6 games, win 4 or 5 and we're a top 2 seed.

We have 3 Quad 1 games left, and 3 non Quad 1 games. Win the 3 non Quad 1 and go 2-1 against the Quad 1 and you're a 1 seed.

5 losses, 4 of those games we shot under 25% from 3 and 3 of them were road games against top 15 teams. We're not suddenly a bad team, you're a ****** fan though if you think so.
I think you are forgetting Florida. They play the exact same Quad 1 teams vise/versa on home/away BUT Florida has a win over auburn at auburn. That might end up the dealbreaker

I mean they average none cause they normally don’t play. They only played cause UK is down multiple guards and a center who is hurt. Next man up
Yep. When you all lose people it’s just the next 4/5 star up. When we get thin it’s either an empty chair or a project we’re throwing out there. Is what it is this year. You’re just a bad matchup for us it seems so I hope you’re not in our path again. Congrats on the win.

Beat Vandy’s butt Saturday & then get focused for the last 5 games.

Will need to win at least 4 of the remaining games to keep a chance at a 1 seed, and going 5-1 may be needed.
No chance if we lose 2 more. 5-1 or 6-0 is now required. My guess is we land on a 2.

Getting a 1 seed is nice, but it really doesn't make much difference against being a #2 seed. In fact, we may actually benefit more as a #2 since we may be more likely to get a draw closer to Knoxville. Goong out West as a #1 wouldn't be as advantageous.
That’s what we said last year and it was flat out wrong. Statistically it’s not even close between a 1 seed’s and 2 seed’s chances to make a FF. A 1 seed is twice as likely to make it.

The stench from that pathetic effort from CRB down to the end of the bench versus #1 rival is unacceptable and embarrassing! The game plan and prep were awful and lack of adjustments on defense when YOU KNOW you’re getting roasted on screen switches, plus the outright anemic offense lack of energy puts me right back to same spot as EACH of CRBs previous teams. If it’s not WORKING, change it!!!!

I don’t care if, what, who, he is in the religious community, that’s great, but we pay him millions to be an elite basketball coach in big games, and he’s not!!!

I appreciate the stability and respect he brought the program among basketball peers, but I’m done with the same SLOP year after year. Please retire!

Look at the stats, KY shot almost the same FG% & 3pt% in both games against TN. It is not just a fluke tonight.
Nope. They know how to beat us and are one of a few teams that can pull it off. They spread us out, have a couple good drivers that are good enough to beat us off the dribble and finish inside, anticipate we will help as that’s part of what normally makes our defense so tough and they find the open man and have the shooters to make us pay. 12-24 on 3 in both games is unreal.

Yea being ranked in the top 10 for the majority of the year is SLOP.

One year removed from an Elite 8 and an SEC title. That is not slop. I get it though. I am frustrated too. I think this team is not as good as we thought. Early season success created unrealistic expectations. However, they are going to the tourney, going to get a good seed. If they play well at the right time they can go deep. Season is kind of over as far as winning anything (SEC title). Get some of the younger guys more minutes for next year and start getting ready for the NCAA tournament.

I did. And they were able to take us off the dribble and drive to the rim or pass out to an open shooter.
No they weren’t. When Paris went out Kentucky couldn’t get much penetration. The shot Brea hit was big. If Brea doesn’t hit that shot, I don’t know if Kentucky finds their offense. Further, Kentucky had their center starting the offense at the end of the game.

To be fair the two white kids were low rated by UK standards. Noah was a South Carolina commit and wasn’t offered by the previous staff. Perry was a low 4 star I think but there was always gonna be growing pains going from playing local small town ky basketball to sec level ball. He’s like 6’1 and pretty unathletic. I think Zakai should have taken him 1v1 more cause he’s a poor defender on ball

You mean that, if things otherwise remained the same, who gets a # 1 seed between us?

First, that isn't the scenario we are in anymore and we have six more conference games to go. Either team could go on a run, or falter a bit. Second, even if things remained the same over that period and the teams had rough parity between them, we may well meet in the SEC tournament and a blowout win in either direction might have meaning.

Not sure what you're saying Florida hasn't played the "exact" same Quad 1 teams.

They're 5-3

We're 8-5
