The Official #5 Tennessee @ Missouri Game Thread, 7:00 PM ET, SEC Network

A road win is a road win but that 1st half video should be titled "How to lose a road game for Dummies". If UM had hit even 30% from the field they would have been down by 20. Whatever ill it is that causes these bad starts on the road they must cure it if they expect to go very far in any tournament. Tobe is starting to look like Wes Unseld out there.
If only he could master the outlet pass half as well as Wes....

Guess you missed the postgame handshake/exchange with Barnes. Barely shook his hand or made eye contact. Really awkward. Also b*tching to Oglesby half the game even though DK was getting mugged with no call every other time down the court.
I saw the post-game handshake. Looked normal to me.

And many on here complain if our coaches don't ride the refs a bit--it's part of the job.

Maybe I missed it, but I didn’t one time see him screaming and flailing his arms or getting in the faces of the officials like Mussleman, Oates, Calipari and others do every game. He didn’t run onto the court like Buzz. Just didn’t catch anything that looked out of line such to draw the disdain some have been posting?

I don’t understand this comment at all? Gates seems to handle himself with class?

He’s not classy in the slightest. After the game he said his team is “f——- g terrible” at drawing fouls in a press conference and smirked as if dropping an f bomb in front of the press makes him cool or something.

Reverse line movement , UT opened at 13, most of the $$$$ is on Tennessee. Vegas tricks. Line should have moved to 14-15. Trying to make guys think? Don't know the agenda, what does Vegas know? Probably trying to limit action on UT, knowing it's a blowout. Vegas is tricky.

SO we see vegas moved the line from 13 to 11 to encourage bets on UT. Vegas knows what's going on; they talk to guys (Indirectly?) who are calling the games and get a feel for team attitudes during shoot arounds. They knew Mizzou was setting a trap for Tennessee. It worked. We thought it was going to be a BB game, turned out to be a Rugby Match.

Wow. That is the Epitome of Low Class : Especially for an SEC Coach. So we know that is his normal conversation Mode. Bet Mama is proud...

Newsflash: winning conference games on the road isn't easy. How many top ranked teams need to be knocked off by much lesser teams does it take to convince people that records and point spreads a lot of times can be thrown out, as all it takes is a team playing over its head or a bad shooting night on a given night to create an upset, and it isn't like it's that rare. These aren't robots, and this isn't a video game.

Games like this are character builders, and almost necessary from time to time because it's more than possible that we get into an ugly game in the tournament. A game like that is something Barnes can draw on in a tough tournament situation as a lesson in how to deal with it and get out with the W. UT played as poorly as it possibly can against a scrappy, physical group on the road and survived - that's a good thing.

Ngl, Mizzou is approaching Florida level hate for me. They are the cockiest 8-18 team I’ve ever seen and don’t even get me started on dorkwitz sitting court side. Now it’s up to Heup to hang 60 on em next year
dorkwitz sitting court side. VERY APPROPRIATE !!!

That's the scout on us. Guarantee it. Any team that's even remotely capable of playing bully ball will do that to us. They'll try to beat up on Knecht, Vescovi and JJJ to take them out of their rhythm. If the refs allow it, and even at home Knecht doesn't get whistles, teams would be nuts not to play whack a vol with us. We likely won't get that far, but the one team I don't want any part of this year is Houston. Whew. Those are some dudes.

I hear you-- but I don't think we play them in football next season. Maybe that's why Drinkwitz was sitting there running his mouth.

Debating you is pointless because of the relentless negativity, which is different from being realistic. Not a lot of teams will play that way because they don't have the personnel to do it, but winning a super ugly game like that one is a lot of times the best thing that could happen, especially after losing similar games against SC and A&M.

Agreed on Houston, that's a hard team to play against, but if we do get that far it is games like this one that can be drawn on. I'm not ready to put some kind of ceiling on how far this team can go, because we're seeing top teams knocked off seemingly daily.

A Power 5 football coach sitting courtside and talking trash to kids is about as classless and pathetic as it gets. Can't say I'm surprised, but Drinkwitz is over his head at this level, and reality will start to bite him in the ass as early as this season, easy schedule and all.
