The Official #5 Tennessee @ Vanderbilt Game Thread, 6:00 PM ET, SEC Network

Honestly if he isn’t scoring he doesn’t give the team much given he isn’t a great defender. But the defense does have to guard him at all times.
i have to disagree. He is an excellent defender. Our defensive rating isn’t just because of Shack. It is a team effort and Santi is a big part of that. He also rebounds well for a guard.

I would have thought this was insane a month ago, but I truly think he’s the best player in the entire country.

I can't think of many I've ever seen in the SEC who are so talented at scoring from whatever position he finds himself in.

He doesn't need a spot, doesn't have a specific move he has to get in -- he just has to get close enough and then he'll figure it out. Always knows when to attack.

Reminds me of how I felt watching Bird (not that I'm comparing them straight up); the best I feel we've ever seen at just making it up as he went and being so good that it'd go in. Sometimes I feel that way watching Knecht. Even his garbage shots are gold.

For the overall season Sears was leading in PPG but in conference play, Knecht is ahead and I don't think it is close.
Without looking it up, I think you're 100% correct. I was looking at SEC stats earlier today, and I think Knecht was 4th based on the entire season.

I’m interested in the South Carolina. That’s a physical physical team. Gonna need hard hats for that game. It gonna be a battle
Agreed. This was a good tune-up for USCe. Despite Vandy’s record, they were extremely physical and we were forced to fight through being pushed around all night. It should help with the mindset going into the next one.

Trailing a 5-13 team that's not gonna conference game so far this year at halftime. If that doesn't light your fire at halftime, I'd question the heart and leadership. Let's see what this team is made of.
Fires were lit and questions answered. Another growing experience for this team. I'm not sure a game like this isn't more of a benefit than blowing them out by 30. Just a very good night. GBO.
