The Official #6 [2] Tennessee vs. #11 [3] Creighton Game Thread, 10:09 PM ET, TBS/truTV

I’m seeing some rumors online that Vescovi is out tonight. Have any of our insiders heard anything? Is he feeling better, or is he a no go? @Stoerner Fumbles @bleedingTNorange
One thing that I have noticed is that he has been absent of all the teams social media posts, even the shoot around. One would think that if he was playing he would at least be shown at the shoot around.

Edit: I see you beat me to it lol

If Vescovi is a no go, it will be interesting to see if Barnes goes with a seven- or eight-man rotation. Barnes has gone to the Freshman when he had to during the season, but none of them was able to carve out a role this season.
Barnes has to go with Mashack. No way he can start Gainey in this one? Surely not? As for the freshmen, my big complaint with Barnes is that he just didn't get them enough playing time early in the season and in blowouts. Now it might come back to bite him if Vescovi can't go and we get the tight whistle I expect tonight. About the only one I'd expect to see as an emergency/stop gap would be Estrella.

To be honest, I'm wondering how much "want to" Vescovi has right now. The way this season has gone for the kid has to be weighing on him in ways we can't imagine. Great VFL, and I hate the way things turned out for him. Know it's not the way a competitor wants to go out or how he wants to be remembered.

The one thing you should unequivocally not question is the “want to” and effort given by Vescovi.

I’ve thought a lot about this game tonight. While I want to win so badly and want our players, etc. to win this game, tonight is me rooting for Rick Barnes first and everyone else next.

This is basically the exact quote given yesterday as well. Not sure it says much one way or another. Kevin McCullar was also “expected” to play as well, but that clearly was never the case.
Basically what Bama said about Wrightsell too. Who knows.

He might go more like 10 deep with just a minute or two for each of the 4 freshmen that have played.

If NCST and Gonzaga both win, I'll ****......I"ll also cry b/c my bracket will be dead in my group :/
