Same…I think we are the better team and should win, but we’ve seen that more than a few times before.
Loyola-Chicago comes to mind.

Regardless, I think this team will take care of business today. Statistically we have the advantages.

Me too. I think we win though. But I keep thinking about that Michigan loss in the second round two years ago when we were the higher seeded team.

I’m anxious as well. If we win this game then I’ll shift to excited because once you get that deep into the tournament everybody is pretty good and It’s hard to be too sad with a loss.

The big worry I have is that so many people seem relaxed and confident that this game is a sure win. Whenever that happens, a kick to the crotch is coming. It would be the most TN thing for Rick Barnes to lose to TX in an NCAA tourney game. Yes, I suffer from chronic BVS.

I promise you the players and Barnes don't feel that

My only wish is they come out loose.
St. Peters tried to bully us like Miss. St. but at the end of the day, all they could do was hold our jerseys.
I think Texas will try to do the same thing, better athletes than St. Peters, but they get hot and cold too.

I'm cautiously optimistic.

Not ready for this season to end. We looked good Thursday night. But we also looked good in the Longwood game in 2022 before laying an egg. Hopefully we come out hot and build some momentum early.
And Texas/Michigan seem comparable in that both had a good big man & guard combo, neither were considered to have great coaching.

Fans are different from players and coaches

I wonder if Vescovi might draw Abmas instead of ZZ. Both TX guards are 6’-0” so the matchup could go either way. Letting Vescovi take Abmas would give us a height advantage on the better scorer and let ZZ focus on running the offense.

Same. One would think that a trip to the sweet 16 would eliminate any possibility of us coming out flat, but with this team, I don't discount anything. Just don't trust 'em.
Well you would think that they would be very motivated and I think we will.I feel that our defense will be aggressive from the get go but my biggest concern is will we get enough from JJJ and Vescovi offensively if we really need their production. Our big three of DK ZZ and Aidoo may be enough to carry us onto the sweet sixteen without them.GBO!!!

I think we'll need both of them plus Mashack. Texas is very athletic. I think this is exactly the kind of game that Mashack was built for. Just hope his number is called a lot more than Gainey's. This is not his kind of game. It's gonna be physical just like St Pete. Only difference is Texas has more and bigger dudes.

I don’t have data on this but it seems to me that the recent winning formula has been to get Aidoo going early. How many games has he scored the first 6-8 out of 10 points but then end up with 14 for the game. Getting some inside scores early gets the offense going and avoids an early drought. This open up outside shots later. Once we get a lead it’s very hard for teams to overcome our defense. I don’t believe Texas has a good enough offense for any significant comeback.
