3 points, even with missed FGs from the other team, is absolutely dominant. It's a defense designed for a high powered offense. If they had both we'd murder everybody. But they don't. They're just not that talented.

I'll always take a defense that forces the other team into situations for less points that they have a good chance of screwing up. Always.

If they had decent kicker it would be at least 12 points. LSU 2019 and Bama 2020 had defense paired with a high powered offense. Granted they had more talent but they also had Aranda/Golding and we have Banks.

Prediction:

Defense improves next year but the offense takes a step back and is wildly inconsistent. We finish a frustrating 9-3 regular season and all forget where we were just two years ago as a literal third of the fan base starts to call for CJH’s head saying he can’t get it done. Will point to 9-3 being worse than 10-2 and compare to his tenure at UCF.

Totally see this happening and I’d add that every assistant coach except for pope will have their jobs called for .
