The Official #7 Tennessee vs. #2 Purdue Game Thread, 8:00 PM ET, ESPN

This should be a double digit lead easily without **** officiating.
If we were hitting our outside shots it wouldn’t have made any difference how bad the ref are. Of course the same could be said for PU.

On one hand, it’s a borderline miracle we’re ahead considering Purdue is on pace for 52 tree throw attempts. On the other hand, we’re only up one after Purdue shot a meager 20% from the field and 61% from the free throw line.

I honestly don’t have a great feeling about the rest of this game. I don’t see the officiating changing, but I do see Purdue shooting better form the field in the second half. Someone other that DK is going to have to start scoring.
Or we need to have Knecht taking most of the shots.

A bit surprised that Santi’s been so cold shooting the ball to start the season, maybe those 10 days away from the team hurt more than expected.

Gainey has also gone cold lately, didn’t expect that.

So are you saying Barnes is wrong
No, I strictly said what I said. The game has been physical, and bad calls happen in every game. Every single one. I'm not a huge fan of coaches picking up techs and giving away 2 FTs, but Barnes had good reason to take exception to a couple calls at least.

We really need to start dropping these 3s. Gainey and Santi are 0-6. Hopefully that doesn't continue. We've had our opportunities, but simply not converting.
Have to keep shooting. They will fall. But in case they don’t, we need to pick up our offensive rebounds.

Purdue dudes throwing flying elbows and not getting a single call on them is what irks me.

I just want officials to make the easy calls. They can't even do that.

SV is a liability right now.
He really is hurting the team. He still leaves his feet not knowing where he's going with the ball. He isn't hitting anything from the field. He hasn't been rehabbing the past year. How much leash is Barnes going to give him? Thank goodness for Knecht because the same old veterans keep wanting to go back in the icebox offensively. He and Mashack have 20 of our 31 points. Knecht is also our leading rebounder.

Gainey looked good until he got to Hawaii--and now, suddenly, he is missing everything, including easy shots. He's 1-12/13 in the last two games. Absurd.

Vescovi is struggling again as well. We need these guys to stop thinking when they shoot and just shoot.
