The Official #7 Tennessee vs. Mississippi State Game Thread, 7:00 PM ET, ESPN (hopefully it stays)

I don’t understand why people don’t understand this… this conference is won by dominate defense which is what we have had… offense is figuring it out and progressing, not as quickly as what we want but like that it is progressing. And the O-Line looks better but obvious room to grow. Just give it time and keep winning.

I guess I want to have high expectations. Is going to the seccg and losing good enough? Is losing in the first round of the playoffs a successful season? I like to think there’s enough talent on this team to do more and can recognize we can do better in a lot of areas. Some are ok with setting a low bar and scraping by…..until we don’t.

5 of our 6 conference games have been against some of the worst teams in the league. We lost 1 and have struggled in all. That’s not being nega that’s just reality.

Who ahead of us in the SEC has played a tougher schedule? It's easy to dissect our schedule but the same can be said for almost every other team at the top of the rankings. It's very difficult to be undefeated or a 1-loss team playing a tough schedule. Georgia has played the toughest schedule in the country and with all their talent they currently have 2 losses and counting.

We're fine. Winning championships requires luck in addition to talent. And some of that luck comes down to schedule.

I suppose ... but considering that State is the worst team in the SEC and they are manhandling our OLine gives me major concerns. UGA is gonna be pissed next week and based on what we're seeing tonight they will absolutely destroy our OLine and Nico will be running for his life. It may be UGLY.
My same fear.

We have to have more play calls against UGA, not just bubble screen, off tackle left and deep fade down the sideline.

UGA has looked like crap all year. They aren’t the team they use to be.

I was blessed with tickets to this game from a former pastor of mine. Upper deck, but good seats. I have a couple of observations at halftime.
1) There is nothing that makes my blood boil more than a group of so called fans booing a team that has a 13 point lead and 270 yards of offense in the first half. Especially, when they get the ball to start the second half. Every one should be absolutely ashamed of themselves!!!! Boo and Bru are acceptable only.

2) I am so upset that I am recovering from injuries to my back and knees. It was disheartening not being down on the firmed at halftime with the black shirt and orange hat!🤕
Yes. We’re favored by 25.5 and lead by 13 at half which is on pace to beat the spread. It’s like some of these so called fans on this board who complain about everything

I don't think we are capable of playing for a NC at this point, but what's the fun in saying we can't get there?

Do we ever throw to the middle of the field or slants? I can't remember if I have seen us do that t is year.

Now, at half, question for the contributors. Is this site slow for you when the action is going on? Dragging here in Pensacola.

Good god, folks

Back in '98 TN had to have an opponent QB basically drop a ball to win a game but they were the best football team TN has ever had

Your opponent is going to score on your team, get calls, get lucky, etc.

Sometimes you need the wind to shift mid-kick to win a game

This ain't that game.

Just. watch.
