He’s been hot dog water on defense too. He’s giving everyone way too much space to step into threes and shoot them right over him. He’s also just flat out closed out lazy with his hands down multiple times - that just hasn’t bit him yet, thankfully.

Santi just isn't moving as quick this year. He just can't shake his man off and get clean shots off on offense. On defense he is getting worn down trying to keep up.

I keep hoping he will because I really like SV. I’m hoping he’ll see a couple go in and get his confidence back. ( If that’s what it is)

This just isn’t true. With the exception of his freshman year, he has been a great defensive player.
We don’t play a straight man to man defense, we play a help defense and when we get beat, it’s usually on a close out.

Also explains some of his (lack of) closeouts on defense. Wrist injury can make it pretty painful to raise you hands and can def make defense harder in general with the pain occupying the mind. Would like to see us get him more rest if this is such an issue on both ends. Hard to see us going far in march with this version of Santi - need him healthy.

Well. The first 4 minutes here are gonna be telling. You either come out and go on a run. And take control of the game. Or you let them hang around, and this will be a fight to the end.

So the refs could review the goaltending since it was below two min. It was the correct call and I’m concerned about our poor shooting.

I see it totally different. He's a liability on defense imo
