Best offensive teams we’ve played since Colorado, could be interesting if we struggle to get some shots to fall...will be a good test to see how legit this defense is as they put up 72 in Kansas and 68 on Nova, can we keep them under 55?

That was my error actually. I didn't copy paste that one, I did the changes and missed the time
No worries, you got the time in the title right.

So with that in mind, I think we should be a little lighter on the press people, haha.

I was and still am a Cuonzo fan. I lived the first month of my life about a block from Lambert Fieldhouse. I didn’t like his playing a victim card here and he seemed to jump ship several times just before they sank, but I do think he’s a good guy.
He is a good guy but in a bad spot with the Bruce love hanging over him. That being said, his basketball was boring and he underproduced with his talent.

He had only been a head coach for 3 years before coming to UT. The timing was bad as he was the opposite of Bruce and there were many loud and pissed off Bruce fans. It didn’t help matters that Bruce stayed in Knoxville and was maintaining a high profile. Cuonzo was defensive minded which normally is well received here. But I think he still is making those crowd deflating, momentum killing time outs after scoring late in close games so he can set up his defense. He also coached our only game in decades without a made 3-pointer. Duke iirc. And also one of our lowest scoring outputs since 11-6 versus Temple in 1973. Georgetown. He’d probably still be coaching UT had he not immediately followed Bruce.

This may surprise people, but I think this could be a trap game.

St Joe's is not a 0-4 team with most schedules. They have a very good offense and can push teams. If we come out slow, we could be in trouble.

Think we win, but will be a test.

At some point he would have ran away. That'swhat he does the moment times get tough. No way he would have made it this long.

I know this may be the most well rounded team we've played so far, but I expect a 20+ point win. Third road game for Joe's since Thursday night, I suspect they will have very tired legs. They've also struggled with turnovers this year, would love for us to get out and run in this one.

From watching Saint Joseph - Villanova game I think SJ will have a very hard time scoring against UT. They don't have much of an inside game and shoot far too many 3s. We have a really talented backcourt and I dont think SJ is prepared to attack against it.

I do think they play pretty hard defense and nothing will be given to us easy. I think we cover, but mostly due to a great defensive match-up.

Tennessee - 73
Saint Joseph - 48

Here in SW Ohio, Spectrum still lists teams TBA on its guide for 6pm SEC Network tonight. Whatever. I'm recording the 6pm game anyway. I trust it'll be the Vols. Why they don't know the teams 2 hrs out I have no idea

FWIW given that its early in the season relative to computer modeling:
Kenpom has StJ ranked at 164: 111 on offensive efficiency and 250 on defense.
For reference TN is 9th: 38th on offense and 4th on defense.
The Kenpom efficiency difference is about 24 points.

ESPN's model has TN favored by 25. The line is around -22.

The scary part about that though is that Tennessee does give up looks from 3, so if they are hitting them they could stick around.

Not giving up many easy looks right now. Was a little worried that might carry over to the start of this game.
