You are correct though, we just don't have the players and I am not sure we are an attractive enough program to bring them in. We had same issues trying to get a good coach for 15-20 years. Kiffin, Dooley, Jones, and Pruitt dismantled Tennessee football and I find it hard to ever see it get back. We are perceived to be a lesser program like SMU, Indiana, etc.

SMU and Indiana both looked better in the last 24 hours than we do tonight.

He’s a good coach but not great. He will lead us to some 10 win seasons here and there but win it all? Probably not

Expecting a National Title now is just silly. Tennessee is done doing that. Thanks to our collapse in 2008, I don't think we can overcome it. We are basically like Ole Miss or Missouri now, we can win 10 games every once in a while but we aren't winning anything major again unless we have our version of Nick Saban walk in the door.

Huge talent gap between these teams.

I like Heupel, and 10 win seasons is way better that what we’ve had the past 15 years. But we need an elite coordinators and coaches to take the next level.

Elite talent would help. The defense we've had this year considering the personnel available has been good.

Losing Pili was a big deal.
