Nope. I didn’t necessarily expect us to win a Natty but I damn sure didn’t expect us to get blown out like this…whenever we have a chance to make a statement….this happens.Anyone else feel like a Cowboys fan?
Seriously? The reason we are getting curb stomped on the biggest stage since 1998 has less than 0.001% to do with the officials.
Need to take a hard look at our coaching, prep, and playcalling. Heup has no other choice at this point, especially given the situation we are going to be in next year with roster turnover.
top 15 in final ranking, yayLI expected a better showing tonight from the Vols.
Issues
1 - Elarbee is abysmal but he is Heupel’s boy;
2 - Martinez is bad;
3 - wideouts are slow and can’t get open;
4 - TN is poorly coached and undisciplined;
5 - Banks?;
6 - Heupel play calling hasn’t adjusted to counter what defenses are taking away;
7 - Oline is mid and there is no development - see 1 above.
But TN did make the playoff this year and had 10 wins. Good season but tonight is rough.
Win your conference, like GA, and you can get a bye and play on New Year's Day. Don't get a bye and it's harder to advance. There's only so many cushy bowl games out there.This playoff shi+ kinda sucks. You’re at an incredible disadvantage playing on the road, and if you lose, it’s just over. Your 10-2 season doesn’t end with a nice trip to New Orleans or Florida or whatever…..we go to cold ass Ohio to end what we should be considering a successful season. These playoff games should be at neutral sites moving forward. The road teams are 0-4 and it’s kinda bullshi+.
DLine has been slightly overrated all year. Good players here and there, but not as good as advertised. They haven't gotten home enough. Not enough sacks. Amd good passing teams, which we haven't played many, can pick us apart with the time they have.
You do recall what happened the next season, yes?I’m sorry but I think you can’t get embarrassed in a huge game and and call it a good season. Especially when you lose to the team with most arrogant fan base the country. This is worse than what Nebraska did to us with Peyton because this was the marquee game.
Josh is our Kiffin. He will win some games but never get you to the championship game. If you are happy getting drilled in the post season then yes let's keep Heupel.
