The Official #9 Tennessee vs #14 LSU Weekend Series Thread (Game 1 Friday @ 6:32PM) (Game 2 Saturday @ 6PM) (Game 3 Sunday @ 1PM)

I am a little surprised by the large lead that LSU has in this series............ now 59-23.

I would think it would be a little closer.

I bet you’re a great guy. I wish I could understand you.

sorry. struck again. Sometimes i cant translate myself, plus xtreme klutz on keyboard possibly linked to some kentucky bourbon barrel beer.

bangles = lsu bengal tigers (bad pun involving all-female rock band)
fantasy draft stuff .....just the usual typos while trying to say i needed to log off and prepare for upcoming draft
pilot stuff was referring to convenience story that I think norcalvol67 mentioned on another thread that convenience store on cumberland was good place to buy kegs while at UT. It was a favorite place for a lot of West Knox kids to get a 6-pack (18 was legal age then) during Doug Dickey's winning years.

longtime Vol and baseball fan who only recently discovered ESPN, SEC+, package was great way to ride out pandemic.

LSU has a long history of championships in baseball. I imagine most of not all other SEC teams have losing records against the Tigers. That said, the playing field has been leveled as conference teams are powerful across the board, including our Diamond Vols.

I was looking at next years class on PG, I know its a long shot, but if Burns makes it to campus and Tidwell comes back goodness.

But one year at a time, we still have a long time before that. GBO
Tidwell can’t enter the draft till after next year. He will be back and has a chance at being one of the first pitchers selected in the 2022 draft.

I still doubt Burns makes it to campus, but thnx for letting me know about Tidwell. I'm a huge baseball fan but I've never really understood the rules about guys who aren't JR'S going.

Sophomore eligible draftees are those that turn 21 years of age within 45 days of the draft. So if a kid has an August birthday and the draft was in June 1 then that kid would not be draft eligible.

However, since the draft has been pushed back to mid July then that same kid is draft eligible. Hope that makes sense.

It does. The age 21 part is the part I didn't know about. I thought all kids had to stay through their JR year. But I also thought I had seen Blade could go after this year. Double Whammy on me.

A little surprised they didn't move the game to early afternoon. Weather looks less sketchy than this evening.

Same here. And Sunday is almost surely a wash-out. There's a real possibility we've already won the series 1-0.
Is it looking that bad? I know what the forecast is calling for but when looking at the radar the band coming across is moving northeast and it looks as if once the morning rain passes the bottom of the band will move north of Knoxville. I have about as much confidence in our meteorologists these days as I do the mainstream media. They’ve been calling for severe weather here in north AL since 11 am yesterday and it was 81 and sunny all day. We were supposed to have an 80% chance of rain overnight and the first rain drop still hasn’t appeared. I’m planning on coming up but would really hate to drive 3.5 hrs one way for a postponement or cancellation. That’s the problem when you’re so far out, you have to make a decision so far out.
