Defense looked great this weekend. We got outhit all three games but mental mistakes weren’t there.

Agree, the D was great, and yep we gave up a bunch of hits. We gotta figure out Saturday pitching situation, I think we’re gonna need some of those young arms as the season wears on, but all in all, damn fine baseball weekend!!! I am gonna enjoy it, not take it for granted!

Weekends like this show what a difference one pitcher can make. Saturday would have been a lot different with Leath in the pen.

Yep absolutely! I think we have 2 or 3 guys that could help out, maybe even takeover the Sat. Slot, they gotta earn the trust of CFA, but there’s time!

Yea, I like our chances to win weekend series but I think we need some depth to make a postseason run.

We don’t have to play the Mississippi schools this season, but we do play Arkansas and they swept MSU. The SEC is #ToughSledding!

I watched a lot of that series. Hogs just hammered MSU’s really good pitching staff.

I didn’t get to watch as much of that series as I would have liked, but Arkansas is legit! Va Tech is handling Pitt today, maybe they aren’t as solid as I originally thought, but a long way to go yet.

So what does this weekend do for our ranking? Florida obviously drops, not that we’ll jump them, or should, but this sweep has to get us consensus top 10 in all polls, right?

RPI dropped 4 spots after a win that gave us a sweep over a top 25 team?

Could be, but the long game is all that matters at this point. Quad 1 wins, RPI, SOS...I checked out the chat on D1 this week and Fitt straight up said he doesn’t even take into account RPI when doing the rankings but “we know the committee does when it comes to the post season.” Also said 16-14 gets us to hosting.

Just keep it up next week and then we have a bit of a stretch with UF and VU, UK and SC are no gimmies either as of now. Long way to go, but I am digging where we are after two weeks!
