I think Tennessee plays so much better pushing the ball up the court hard. Too many cases where they settled to run their half court offense instead of pushing it all the way. The 4-5 times we took it to the hole we had success.

If our young guys continue to get better, Pons and Fulk play to their potential and Bailey keeps playing like he is then we can play with anybody. Really need Anosike or ORN to step up.

This has been a killer stretch to start the season so far, and I'm not so sure this Saturday is going to be any easier. TAMU gave Alabama fits. I keep hearing that the SEC isn't very good this year by the blue checks, but it's not feeling like that. Arkansas, Missouri, and Alabama all seem like pretty dang good teams.

Most of those were James taking the ball to the hole.

If we’re healthy & play close to how we did against Missouri, we’ll be a deep run team.

What I like seeing this game is Keon, JJJ, Bailey & Fulky all getting aggressive offensively and not just settling for 3s.

We won this game at the FT line.

Idk...I agree we’ve had several losses in recent history due to a high amount of 3’s opponents have hit but I think most of those have been when a team/guard has went unbelievably hot (Purdue guy hitting bombs from all over in tourney). Hitting very low % shots at a high rate.

Don't know when people will get this. We have occasionally ran a zone under Barnes thats been extended out so the only other thing people could be asking for is a more compressed zone even more vulnerable to the 3. In my opinion our trouble with defending the 3 is not about playing M2M, it's that Fulk and our other 5s are abused when switched onto a smaller guard, leading to over helping, leading to drive and kicks resulting in open threes. If teams get hot from deep I'd like to see them put Yves at the 5 and JJJ at the 4, Keon and Springer at the 2 and 3 and then Bailey at the point. Its not a perfect lineup but its switchable on defense, all five guys can shoot. No true point guard but thats really all our line ups

Yes. You can. You can ALSO get lit up playing man OR a match up zone like Arkansas did some tonight. The POINT is... most coaches switch up. Barnes does not and WILL not. Care to argue?

Thats a lot of “ ifs”. At this point, We just don’t have the shooters on the offensive side to play with the elite teams Like Gonzaga and Baylor. Honestly, if we don’t improve a lot offensively, its going to be a very disappointing season. Hopefully Bailey, Springer, Vescovi will start knocking down shots. Don’t see Anosike Or ORN contributing Much This season

I can agree with that. Question is was that an anomaly or can we play that way 80% of the time? Time will tell.

Yes. There are a bunch of coaches who only play man because they have athletes.

Zone just doesn’t help when playing a good shooting team. Watch the next three games against below average teams.

It’s weird, we really need something more outta the bench. We’re a 7 man rotation right now, EJ, ORN or Gaines gotta give us something or we’re in trouble late in the season.

I dont think we're in the same tier as Gonzaga or Baylor, and I dont think we will reach that tier. That's alright though, we just have to hope they get eliminated in the tourney early or we catch them on an off night

Anosike is too busy grunting and groaning. Not a solid offensive threat imho. ORN has a ton of upside and better length. Would like for him to earn 10-15 minutes a game.

Yeah I have been a defender of EJ but he was a no show tonight and I dont think Barnes even put him in in the second half. ON didn't get put in at all, which is odd to me, he should be in over Uros I'd say

Outside shooting (consistency) must improve.

That was strange to see Uros in the first half instead of ORN. Between the 3 of them, I think ORN is the best player
