The Official Albany @ Tennessee Series Thread (Fri. 4:30PM EST) (Sat. NOON EST) (Sun. 1PM EST) (SECNET+)

Last straw poll of the weekend, since the others went so well, lol…how many folks watch baseball where Tennessee is not a participant?
Yep, lots of it. I’ve been pissed this weekend because there’s a lot of good games in tournaments that require subscriptions.
Pokes v Beavers tonight would be a great game to watch.

College baseball is making a huge mistake allowing those tournaments to be subscription only. Lots of interesting baseball that won’t get watched on a a broadcast that sucks.

Yep. Ya can’t expect people to spend the money for cable/internet and then go, can’t watch unless, but those tournaments know the die hard will buy it. It happened to us, but we already had it, the first 3 games.

I’ve never seen more interest in college baseball than right now….but you have to give that new interest interesting games to watch. People will pay to see their own team but not other interesting matchups.

Has it always been this way or were they easily accessible in the past?

I agree. It’s still by and large, the most affordable ticket for Men’s Sports, of the big 3 in most places. At LSU, it’s a lifestyle, we can get there, but we aren’t there yet.

Pretty much. This time of year. If you live in Texas and you wanna watch the Horns or Aggies and they are playing in a tournament with , for instance, Charlotte, in Charlotte with two other teams it can become a PPV scenario. In a couple weeks, that’s over though, conference play.

College baseball was not easily accessible until ESPN+.

If you wanted to follow it, you had to follow your local college team, usually on an AM radio station.

The advent of streaming services, both TV and radio, over the last few years has been a glorious revolution for those of us who love the game.
