I've never understood where the blue came from. Before I started pulling for baseball, I thought it was a Florida knockoff. There is nothing blue in UT's color scheme except that. Unless there is some history I don't know about.
How about bunting in a checkerboard jersey txbo?

I'm of the belief that checkerboards belong in the end zones and on the top of Ayres Hall, and that's it. Don't think it looks good on any uniform, and I don't like it on the baselines of the basketball court.

And, sorry preacherman, but the cream uni's are awesome!

On the softball field? Sure.

I personally love the creams. Solid look! The Summit blues look awesome on the Lady Vols but I think it should remain there. Most don’t know the origination of the checkerboards but IIRC Coach Dickey told the players to run towards the Checkerboards back when the end zone was open and you could see the checkerboard design on top of Ayres Hall.

EDIT: It was a myth. Coach Dickey saw the checkerboards in a magazine ad. I like the Ayres Hall story better. 👍👊😀😃🍊

Did I just become a rap fan?
We knew we’d get ya! Ridin’ Dirty got me years back when I was coaching. Team wanted it as our anthem. Sponsor’s name was Team. Team on jersey, team concept. Ridin’ Dirty was it. Runnerup in State tournament. Let them do it their way… nobody ever suggested a bunt…

Nice, didn’t know that history. Love the blue being accents for the Lady Vols — a truly iconic brand in its own right. The blue should always be incorporated for WBB, and I am fully supportive of other women’s teams incorporating liberally as they see fit. For the men’s programs, I’m not opposed to using it occasionally to pay homage to Pat, the Lady Vols, etc. (as football did this year), but not in favor of making a recurring alternate jersey blue.

Very well enunciated opinion. Agree 💯 %

My 2 cents…I don’t care what they wear, personally I got enough stuff running down my leg. I don’t particularly dig the warning track idea, but I ain’t got a say in it no how.

Wake Forest does not look like the #5 team in the country TODAY. They’re kicking the ball all over the place.
