I figured since our football team is expected underachieve every year under fulmer and we now have a legit bball program we can start a thread annually and chat about college basketball.

I believe we are expected by most to finish 1st in the east again this year but there are a few experts who believe we will finish behind florida. Florida has some nice big men coming in this year but i dont think they can carry them to an eastern championship..

Also i like Bama to win the west and possibly the sec championship if Steele is healthy. Add Gee and Green to that and you have possibly one of the best trios in the nation

I say The Vols will have a even better season then last year. I think its a easy call though to say UNC is going all the way. I still cant believe they got everyone back and also adding 3 Mcdonald All Americans. They might not lose a game all year.

UNC has a pretty decent chance to go undefeated in the ACC this year, im not too sure about their ooc though. they are the easy pick to win the NC but when does the favorite in the preseason ever turn out to actually win it?

What a terrible first post. FB and BB have nothing to do with each other. 2 games into the season and you give up. Will you at least give the bb team 4 games?

Basketball is the last thing on my mind right now. I'll start thinking about it around Jan. 8 after UK wins the football MNC.

Trut, what's KU going to do this year? I think they should be ok .
It is going to be a pretty tough rebuilding year. They are probably only going to win the Big XII, the Big XII Tournament, and make the Sweet 16.

UT should match up very well against KU on Jan. 3. Unfortunately, Phog Allen Fieldhouse is a pretty tough place to play.

I will most certainly be there.

Kansas will not come close to winning the big 12, they may finish 3rd, but most likely 4th behind Oklahoma, Texas and Baylor

Good one - Kansas 4th in the Big 12... they're young so I wouldn't be so confident about them winning the regular season - but I expect them to be there in the Big 12 tourney.

Yea depending on the matchups they get in the tourney they could go deep in it but they wont come close to winning the regular season title... Oklahoma and Texas are the favorites in the Big 12 but i wouldnt count out Baylor to win the regular and big 12 tourney title, and i could also see Baylor making it to the Sweet 16

Unless Baylor has suddenly learned to play defense, they aren't winning any championships.

They may not win the big 12 but i wouldnt count them out of it, there's really only 4 legit teams in the big 12 this year and if Baylor can get the right matchups in the tourney they may surprise.. example... big 12 semis Kansas-Baylor Texas-Oklahoma i believe Baylor would advance past Kansas and could pull off the upset of Oklahoma in the championship game

-Lindy's magazine has Tyler Smith as the #2 SF in the nation and Scotty Hopson the #13 SF in the nation

-Devan Downey the #15 pg in the nation  Really dont understand ranking Patty Mills at #10 pg, thats a joke.. Darren Collison is #1, that is a joke

-Tyreke Evans ranked at #8 ahead of AJ Abrams, Jerel Mcneal, Marcus Thornton, Scotty reynolds, and his teammate Antonio Anderson at SG

-Overrated Luke ranked #2 PF behind none other than bright-eyed bushy tailed

-Center Rankings... #1 Blake Griffin, #3 BJ Mullens, #5 Andrew Ogilvy, #24 Wayne Chism

I guess Memphis's starting lineup will be..

PG- Kemp
SG- Evans
SF- Anderson
PF-Dozier

I really thought there was room for that Witherspoon guy to crack the starting lineup but i guess not
