By the way Dan Skipper lined up as the RT tackle next to the guard. Dan Skipper would have no reason to be report as eligible which Brad Allen blatantly admits in his pool report.

He ****ing assumed because Skipper was on the field that he was eligible and reported the wrong ****ing number

I’m also 98% sure that Allen did not announce that Skipper was eligible, which means the Lions could not have known who Allen thought was eligible and either correct or take a delay of game penalty or anything like that

Edit: Yup. Start at the 10:00 mark. Allen does not announce who is eligible so the Lions truly thought they did everything right. So Allen not only ****ing screwed up the number, he didn’t even announce publicly who was actually eligible. All time malfeasance here (you’ll have to clink the link the NFL won’t embed)

Did Vegas know Detroit would go for 2 after the penalty preventing OT? How does Vegas dial up the ref on the field that late in the game to call the penalty? Why Dallas and not Detroit? Detroit covered the spread by the way.

I sometimes think they are asking too much of 7 on field refs. 7 guys have to keep track of how many players are on the field, who's eligible offensively, is the formation legal, and then watch 22 players spread out over 50+ yards to see if any offensive or defensive penalties should be called. With the complexities of the sport there's going to be mistakes by the refs.

I feel bad for the Lions but officiating has been very bad at times for a very long time.
As a. Lions fan how would you feel to have the Superbowl stolen from you.
In 2006 Seahawks vs Steelers. It seemed every time Seattle made a positive play or defensive stop there was a flag. A hold, offsides, illegal procedure, pi..etc...You get the idea.
Four years after the robbery the official apologized to the Seattle Seahawks for " making some calls that could have caused a negative outcome for the Seahawks. Uh, thanks man I feel better now Here's a link.

The Detroit Lions aren’t locked into the three seed, but it will take a lot of help to climb out of it. Here’s an updated look at the NFC playoff picture.

How to get the No. 1 overall seed​

Simply put, the Lions will need to finish with a better record than all three teams, unless they can somehow flip that Eagles tiebreaker. So here’s what needs to happen:

• Lions beat Vikings
• 49ers lose to Commanders AND Rams
• Cowboys lose to Commanders
• Eagles lose to Cardinals or Giants... probably have to lose both

How to get the No. 2 overall seed​

There are a couple of different ways this can happen. The “easiest” is that the NFC East teams lose out:

• Lions beat Vikings
• Cowboys lose to Commanders
• Eagles lose to Cardinals AND Giants

If that’s the case, both the Eagles and Cowboys finish 11-6 to the Lions’ 12-5.

However, the Lions could also jump into the 2 spot if the 49ers just faceplant to end the season.

• Lions beat Vikings
• 49ers lose to Commanders and Rams

In this situation, the 49ers drop to 11-6 and the Lions jump them at 12-5. It doesn’t matter what the Eagles or Cowboys do, as the Lions would be the No. 2 seed at worst.

If the 49ers and Eagles win this Sunday, the only way the Lions can climb out of the three seed is if both the Eagles and Cowboys lose next week and Detroit somehow pulls ahead in the strength of victory tiebreaker over Philly.
