Bobby Hamilton won one of the best races I've ever been to.(the first truck race at Atl). He had to make a late pit stop and restarted last truck on the lead lap(17th I think) adn he ran his truck on the high side knocking 'em off 1 or 2 a lap and won the race sliding across the finish line.

I remember that one. He got past Mike Skinner coming to the line.

Kyle Busch passed about 6 or 7 trucks with about 5 laps to go in the fall race that same year. The first 4 or 5 truck races at Atl had great finished with several trucks wrecking as they came to take the checkerd flag.

I've been a Jeff Gordon fan not long after he started racing. Jimmie Johnsom is also a favorite driver along with Tony Stewart & Kevin Harvick.

I've been a Hendrick fan for a few decades now, started following Gordon when he was driving the Busch series. :good!:

Not a big fan of the Hendrick racers, but the Hendrick organization is first rate. I used to work as a Paramedic with the Special Events team for Carolinas Medical Center. One of the venues we covered was LMS. I always liked working the Speedway Club suites (the seperate block of suites in Turn 1, past the condos), handing out Tylenol, antacids, etc. Hendrick had a corporate suite there were more "common folk" types got seating for the races. While most of the suites used the speedway's catering service, Hendrick always catered with an outside company. It was a pretty sweet deal for me, free race entry, bacon wrapped filets, appetizers, desserts, etc. One year, I even left the race with a couple cases worth of free beer that had gone unsold during the race.

Adding to that... you didn't cheer for Travis Henry, Jamaal Lewis, Donte Stallworth etc.?

I don't give a damn about Deon Sanders, nor have I ever.

Were those former Vols convicted felons at UT?

I was happy to see Gordon win in Phoenix. He seemed more humble than usual which is due to his long win less streak but he needs to get his edge back to where he expects to win. I never thought I would see Gordon excited about beating Kyle Busch like he was inferior to him.

When you are regularly outrun by someone, regardless of finishing position, you have to respect their ability, Jeff does.

That's a good point. I think the driver swap at Hendrick putting Gordon with Gustafson's team and pairing junior and Letarte together was a good move for everyone except maybe Mark Martin. Hopefully Jeff will win a few races this season so that he isn't getting beat on a regular basis. I think Mark will be fine with Lance McGrew also just not an upgrade for him.

Did i miss some races or are you counting the shootout and Duel races (Gordon only raced in one of those) too?

Yeah, my bad. I had just saw the schedule and counted them all.

Good job.

Was hoping Gordon would win but at least he led for a bit and finished 5th. He needed it. Johnson just missed a top 10 finish at 11th.
