If everyone gets to Hoover, then no one really gets to Hoover.

I think we're close to seeing the major conference tourney's go away. I would rather see an extra week of games and get ready for the post season instead of giving that god forsaken state ANY of my money.
I would love to see an extra series added since there are now 15 other teams to play. Conference tournaments/games will eventually be repurposed for NCAAT and CFP bids. I know in football there is a lot of steam behind having a Championship Weekend as a de facto “play in” for the CFP. 4 guaranteed spots for SEC and Big Ten.

1 vs 2 for the conference championship (both are guaranteed spots, neutral site)
3 vs 6 for a spot (home game for 3 seed)
4 vs 5 for a spot (home game for 4 seed)

I totally love winter and cold weather, and usually about this time start dreading the coming of spring.

But seeing this thread did bring a smile for one area of positive anticipation for the months to come.

Like an absolute heathen, I’ve done some digging into the Hofstra team. They return 2 of their top 9 hitters from last year. The first is infielder Dylan Palmer, who was 2nd team All AAC last year. Hits for a very high percentage and was 2nd in conference in stolen bags, but not a lot of xBH. He had 93 hits, but only 9 xBH last season. For any of you that aren’t great at math, that’s 84 singles in a season. Against Virginia last February, Palmer had 7 singles and a double in a 3 game series. The other returning bat from the lineup is the 9th best hitter, Luke Masiuk, who hit .262 with 16 2Bs and 4 HRs. They return their #1 Pitcher, Carlos Martinez, who had a 4.00 ERA. The rest of their pitching staff was pretty bad. Martinez got roughed up in his only outing versus a P4 team last year - Virginia.
