In HD I think CBS has the best followed by ABC. That game last night didn't impress me at all.

Agreed.

Yes, those guys make me want to sandblast my face off.
I am actually the opposite. I like them. I like Gary's insights. Verne is a little much sometimes but overall, I like watching them do the SEC games.

The split / 4x screen is trash. The clock on how fast Oklahoma snapped the ball was pathetic. I liked the commentators even if Charles Davis did make statements and then question himself often. Fox butchered the BCS Championship Game.

yes it was

The Tebow lovefest was pretty nauseating. The parts that got to me were when the announcer jokingly said that the personal foul penalty was the first mistake Tebow had made in his life and when he detailed every charitable thing Tebow has ever done. It wouldn't have been so bad if they hadn't been so on his jock the entire game leading up to that point and said very little about the Heisman trophy winner. Did they even acknowledge that Tebow threw 2 terrible interceptions??

That's the main reason I am hoping Tebow will be leaving after this season (personally, I'd like to see UT get to take one more shot at him with Monte's defense). With ESPN taking over the reigns of covering the SEC, I don't know if I'll be able to stand 12 more months of the national media slurping on Tebow. It's gotten to a rediculous and over the top level already.

Is it just me or does it seem like the producers and production crew for Fox sux worse than anything or anyone has ever sucked before? :hmm:
Apparently you didn't check out the multiple camera angles online. It was pretty cool.

I also thought it was funny when they caught Percy Harvin smacking Urban's ass in the late 4th when the game was sewn up. Urban was not happy, but Percy really let one loose, I bet it stung!

I completely agree, Fox camerawork is pathetic and the whole broadcast gives a 2nd rate feel to big games.

oh that clock was dumb as hell. How many times did it go to 30 before they turned it off? every time they brought it up it took them forever to call a play.
I was just talking to a friend of mine about that. It was almost like a jinx on the hurry up offense to show that stupid clock.

1. It looks stupid to show that camera hanging by a wire in the middle of the field repeatedly. They obviously did it to show the DirectTV emblem.

2. They almost never showed the 25 sec clock. This irks me most with any broadcast.

3. Charles Davis has the potential to become a GREAT broadcaster with a little coaching.

4. OK gave that game away inside the opponents 5.

5. Florida will be a thorn in our side as long as Oscar remains there.

When one announcer (it wasn't Charles Davis) said 'if you spend 20 minutes with Tim Tebow you'll be a better person for it", I threw up a little in my mouth.

ABC has the best "big game" broadcast, cannot stand sports on FOX, CBS production is behind ABC as well, when games are broadcast on CBS the picture quality seems "dated" just my .02

Dude,ABC no longer has a sports division. What you are seeing are infomercials from ESPN.

I swear at one point they came back from commercial and Florida had gained like 30+ yards during the break. I couldn't stand how they would cut away to commercials with no warning at all. Just to play a 30 sec spot and then back to the game.

I forgot about that one too! :good!:

NCAA football, at its worst, is better than anything else on television. High-Def and Dolby THX at 1000 watts makes it really enjoyable. I agree that Musberger (sp) should be a funeral-home greeter, but Charles Davis is a good UT guy and is getting better. Sound on Fox and ESPN isn't very good. CBS aces them both there.

They only show instant replay on big plays or controversial ones.

Most networks will now show instant replay after every play. Not Fox.

You forgot:

The D-Bag said "if you're lucky enough to spend 20 minutes with Tim Tebow, you'll be a better person for it"

That was sickening.

It was absolutely TERRIBLE!!! The announcers were pathetic. It sounded like they were announcing their first game ever. I loved how after Major Wrights second hit, one of the announcers said "say hello to major right, and he will hit you in a Major wrong way". lol I thought it was terrible at best.

the color commentator last year was doing college football on TBS. . . TBS!!!! now he is doing the national championship game. Fox just isn't commited to college football.

Jimmy Johnson, Eddie George and Barry Switzer---what a waste of time to listen to these 3 babble on about nothing.

Those guys aren't game announcers.

It kills me that a great portion of our VolNation forums don't understand the difference between game announcers and studio analysts.

Fox is fine. They did a fine job IMHO. Most of you dolts don't like any network, so the most of the opinions on here can be taken with a grain of salt.
