Man..

I miss the newness from this show. A co-worker was telling me how he just started watching "Lost" last week and I found myself jealous of him. Getting to experience the confusion and wonder of what each week would bring.

R.I.P. "Lost".

I was thinking of starting over with season 1 around when Lost usually starts in late Jan.
Just can't get that lazy copout ending out of my head.

it ended ok IMO. i look back at Lost and almost view it as a "what could have been" show solely because (at least to me) the last few seasons weren't as good as the first couple. it was still a great show to experience, don't get me wrong....but the first two years were mindblowing compared to the last few.

That's because nothing had ever been made quite like those first few seasons. It was a new experience which we had never seen. It was a fantastic story.

true. i guess once you got past the first few seasons you got used to all the mystery and island lore that made the show so great. it's definitely still a must watch for anyone who hasn't ever seen it.

The pilot episode really set the tone. I mean polar bears on an island? A giant monster in the jungle? The whole crash......and then the distress call at the end? It's the best pilot I've ever seen.

I think I have decided to impose not watching it for 5 years on myself as a way to recapture some of the newness of it and to just forget some of the things that are still fresh in my memory.

I don't know if there's ever been a show with so much suspense and mystery, and I don't think it's close. That's what made the show so much fun.
