The Official NASCAR Talk Thread

It’s peaceful, would rather him do this than be out looting and burning cities. Not sure reading comments on some of the social media outlets that many nascar fans are that open minded though. Him talking about wanting the confederate flag being banned from the tracks though seems like a bit much. Far as the flag goes, I don’t care one way or the other about that thing, it’s not gonna effect me one way or the other whatever they decide to do with that.

Any chance they had of trying to win back their Southern base is going to be a lot harder.

All the black race fans I met when going to Talladega didn't seem to have a problem with in fact I'd call'm black rednecks.

I only started watching about 10 minutes ago and I've been a fan of his since he got into NASCAR but the pandering for Bubba is a bit nauseating has it been like that all race?

Yep. since last week. They stopped during pace laps and had a moment of silence. Bubba has been wearing a BLM shirt for the anthem and they've made sure to show it 742 times the last few weeks

It was constant last night. He ran decent so I get covering him some during the race but they were straight cramming him down everybody’s throat last night.

Im in the younger age group that watches, but thats mainly because I grew up watching and its something my dad and I talk about.

Yep middle aged here but Dad got me in it at an early age. I watch to carry on that memory. Was lucky to tag along to Bristol, Wilkesboro, Charlotte and Kingsport...great memories

Then there is this!

I'm sure sponsors would love it as it will have a larger logo on the side of car.

I wouldn't be a fan of this for a regular race. However I could live with it for the AS race as honestly I haven't watched one in several years.

I remember when the AS race was an event. The teams and sponsors worked together for fancy paint schemes and logos and decals that were brighter or reflected under the lights.

Dale Jr. really NASCAR should have a time limit like the NFL. A driver should have to be retired for 10 years before being eligible.

Didn't he race in the Xfinity race last week?
2 time Daytona winner. 2 time Nationwide Champ. 15 years as the "most popular" driver. He's deserving IMO.

You misunderstand me, I'm not saying he's not deserving of it. I'm just saying he's only been retired going on 3 years and as I said he raced in the Xfinity race in the last week.

Isn't there some older folks that's been retired 10 to 20 years or longer that's just as deserving?

Yea I don't know how NASCAR handles the requirements.
