It has happened before. Gordon had 10 wins in 1996 and lost the championship to Terry Labonte who only had 2 wins. Stuff happens in racing. Don't blame the playoffs.Crazy thing is the 11 almost didn’t make it in. It’s just stupid that the 4 has no chance of winning the crown after the season he had.
It's the playoffs for a reason. Does the team with the most wins in the NFL get a pass to the super bowl? No. Harvick had 3 races to "easily" walk in to the final 4 at Phoenix and failed. If you want to let the regular season champ to get a bye thru the first round of playoffs, thats fine, but not to the final 4.
I personally think that wins are slightly skewed too far for the racers with the most wins but you want those wins to matter so I probably wouldn't change it.
Don't be cry babies.
The problem with your terrible opinion is the fact you have a team directly telling a driver not to pass. Also, at the end Truex was running brake as well. He Proceeded with new tires to run Hamlin down and then park himself behind Eric jones and in front of Cole custer(he is a chump IMO).
Either way, if you let competition stand supreme, Denny Hamlin would have been out and another driver who deserves to be fighting at the end of the year is out with one race to go.
It’s a terrible format and should work as falling. No stages:
win - most points
2nd - 2nd most points
3rd - 3rd most points. And so on
Winning stages and receiving points for how you finish with 400 laps to go is the epitome of everyone gets a trophy, which fits in todays world of soft people.
