The Official NASCAR Talk Thread

Reading that thread they should probably change the name to "NAKCAR" National Association of Kit Car Auto Racing as their isn't anything "Stock" in it. This is the final nail in the coffin to the sport. IMO

I don't see why any of the manufactures stay involved, it's really hard for me to believe the old adage "win on Sunday, sell on Monday" still applies.

That was perfection from Hendrick Motorsports at Dover. Seems like they finally stopped doing the “test car” model and are trying to win with all 4 cars like JGR and Penske.

Dumb move. Roush hasn’t been competitive in over a decade.
I remember when they were THE company back in the mid to late 90s and early 00s. I’ve heard rumors JR Motorsports is gonna be in Cup next season. If I was him and didn’t wanna be at Penske, that’s where I’d look. Hendrick satellite team I’m sure, way they’ve been running this year and the stable they’ve got I think they’re gearing up for another run. I also get the ownership aspect of it though. Just don’t seem like a good career move IMO though

Smart move if ownership is involved. He's 37 so he's looking past his driving days.

He is, but if he makes the move next year, his chance of winning a title goes to zero. But if he’s content, then by all means take the ownership stake and see if you can resurrect a once proud race team.

He's got a championship already and let's face it, NASCAR championships don't mean that much anymore.

I know I’m in the minority and I understand that it was raining, but today was an example of why NASCAR is not a good fit for road courses. If you want to mix it up and bring fans back, add more short tracks like Nashville, Wilkesboro, South Boston, or IRP, not road courses.
I completely agree with you. I hate road courses and wish there were 0 on the schedule permanently.
