The Official NASCAR Talk Thread

They should honestly remove the 20 and the 24 and put the 5 in.

I’m not a Larson fan.
This. I agree. Bell accelerated and used the wall. They Chevy’s blocked for Byron. They should have both been disqualified and Larson should have been the 4th for the championship race. (And I’m also not a Larson fan).

Wonder if it was reversed and Toyotas were not passing Bell and a Chevy slowed way down and Byron the "wall" thing if the same decision would have been made.

Can't have a Championship 4 without all 3 manufacturers involved.

NASCAR says they want to "emphasize" wins yet the guy who won the most races (Larson) is out. Same thing happened the year Harvick won I think 9 races and missed the 4 due to some weird mess in the Round of 8.

I would hope not. Bell gassed it while riding the wall. Clear violation to me. And one he didn’t need to do.

The 1 and 3 formed a wall to protect Byron. You can hear that on Dillon’s radio. Dillon and Chastain were obviously in on it.

The 23 was nowhere in sight and then he appears in front of Byron with 2 to go and seemingly goes slow on the front stretch trying to cause a pileup. When that fails, he backs up even further as a last resort to allow Bell to pass him.

It’s embarrassing what this sport has turned into.

The Chase and Championship 4 has cost several drivers well earned championships that would’ve been titles in the old format.

I knew once Logano got into the 8 that he was winning the Championship.

Took too long for Blaney to get by Larson, used too much up to be able to get by Logano.

Kudos to Logano for stepping up when he needed to, etc. etc.

But he had absolutely no business winning the championship this year. Unfortunately for him, he's going to have to defend this fluke title the rest of his career.

They have to do something about this format. I get that NASCAR is trying to draw eyes and compete with other sports with playoffs and big moments, but it just doesn't work with motorsports. Period.

I read that Logano's average finish this year was 17th and he led something like 350 laps all year. Larson led over 1700.

They have to change something, this has been screwing over deserving drivers for years.

even though Im not the biggest Larson fan, him and Hamlin were the 2 best an they have 1 or 2 bad races 33 races in and, oh, Theyre out! ridiculous.

Mark 2024 as another year that cost a more deserving driver a championship. Denny, Byron, and Larson all have arguments
