The Official NBA Forum Vols Football Thread

It was a culmination of factors. Overlooking ASU. Vanilla game plan. Penalties. Turnovers. Basically every weird play went their way until the OT TD.

I'll stay positive and I think this team grew up some, yesterday.

Outside the other fumble UT got and even Suttons amazing pick.

What was that link for? You trying to run me out of this section Jerry?

Meh, Mich St struggles with Furman tonight. It happens.

According to Sportscenter, Mich St had a strong finish tonight. MSU was favored by 38 points, and they had to score a TD in the last 4 minutes to go up by 2 scores and put away a Furman team that was garbage last year in the FCS Southern Conference.

Amazing pick? It was a nice read and catch. Not sure it was "amazing" in the sense that it was a weird play. Didn't we recover our own fumble? Wouldn't exactly say that's "going our way", but i guess it could have been worse.

In the past we were the team missing FGs and XPs. The fumble had 3 or 4 Appy guys right by it and Hurd came from 6-7 yards away to get it, we are usually the team with 3 or 4 guys unable to get it from one guy. " going our way" or whatever you want to call it, we are usually the team losing that way. Maybe that's what he meant by "going our way"?

Btw, who was it against last year where Hurd recovered his own fumble...beating like 8 guys to the ball? Bama?

Bench Dobbs, Hurd sucks, Kmac is a bust, there is all kinds of real genius out there

I will say that McKenzie's name didn't even get called last game against App State. He should have dominated his man at the line of scrimmage when he has 40-50+lbs. more weight.

I didn't see him make one tackle or even one what you would call close to pressure on the QB. We all know what he's capable of doing but he's got to step up & do it. Thanks!

They aren't a passing team so QB pressures by a DT aren't really going to happen. He played OK but needs to play hard every play. It's more of an effort thing

The defense held pretty strong after a weird start. Its o line play and qb play we've gotta worry about
