The Official New England Patriots Thread

I was entertained that the Patriots defeated the hapless Texans 25-22.
A terrible Texans team blew a lead because they couldn't defend when needed.

Also very laughable that I saw information that the Patriots avoid an upset by the Texans because not really an upset because the Patriots are a team that has a losing record that avoided losing to a terrible Texans team.
The Patriots are rebuilding this season which is why I'm very confident in saying they will have a losing record, and they will not make the Playoffs.

Joe not so much tonight. Looked like the old Joe making bad mental mistakes. He has to get the ball down the field and get the ball to receivers for catches and not sacks. Love my Vols but, tonight was not a good one for Joe.

He made a pretty good 40 yard throw downfield on the run that was knocked out, and 2 more passes hit the rb and te in the hands and were dropped(actually not thrown hard at all), could've been 4 or 5 of 7, not his best game but definitely not all on him. I'm assuming he will be playing a lot of game 3, so we will see what he does with more opportunities.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots coach Jerod Mayo said rookie Drake Maye has closed the gap on veteran Jacoby Brissett, but the decision on a starting quarterback goes beyond that.

"This is a true competition, and I would say at this current point, Drake has outplayed Jacoby," Mayo said Monday in his weekly appearance on WEEI's "The Greg Hill Show." "Now in saying that, we have to take in the full body of work, going all the way back to the spring and beginning of training camp. And we'll see where we end up. But those are the conversations that will happen here over the next couple of days."

I’m getting a kick out of all the people complaining about how the Pats handled this search. What are they supposed to do, pass on hiring a proven commodity who also happens to be in the organization’s Hall of Fame? If you’re upset about how they handled the Rooney Rule, maybe that says more about how flawed the rule is in the first place.

I would like to see Mayo end up as the Falcons's defensive coordinator.
