That’s all I know….its small…it’s not far from Maggie Valley, Cherokee, and Bryson City. Near the Carolina smokies. Jimmy Streater old vols Qb is from there and I think they had a cool courthouse on a hill and an old paper mill that I think drove people away when it closed. Pretty area but not much going on.

My Grandparents had a home stead there that was bought out by that private club. They owned property next to a creek and a beautiful waterfall that has turned into one of the fairways of that private course. Old story goes that my Grandfather put so much concrete into his foundation of his house that they just made it an elevated hill on the course because they couldn’t remove it all. This is a guy that built a bomb shelter during the Cuban missile crisis in Florida to protect his family. He loved concrete and used a lot of it. We hated that he sold out to this private course because this property in Silva was beautiful. I am glad some people get to enjoy it now. Would like to go back and try to find the property but they would never let me in to look and see. I tried and they said I wasn’t welcome. Didn’t belong to the club even though I explained my story to the security guard at the entrance.
