vols2345 gave me this idea, and I thought it was pretty good. This thread will be for anybody who likes to follow prep football. Everybody who wants to participate will designate a state to follow, then post a summary of all the Friday night happenings in that state. Results of the big games, who's looking to take home the state titles. Big time recruits, all that.

For starters, I'll take Oregon.

If you wanna take multiple states, go for it. You're gonna have to write more, but if you want to, do it.

yeah i was thinking on taking on a smaller state like rhode Island.

They have football too?

Seriously though, if you want a smaller state, go with New Jersey. It's small and has a good amount of talent.

West Virginia is a bit bigger but produces some good talent...

States I would really like to have covered:
California (two people could cover this one though)
Texas
Florida
The Carolinas
Virginia
West Virginia
Oklahoma
Washington
New Jersey

who ever takes on texas will need alot of dedication. I think if we did this though, it would be way cool, and alot better than having to go on to rivals and all that to see stats. we can just read from state to state.

Preason Report for the state of Florida-

With Football in the air in Florida, scouts are all over the place to see the best teams and break down the top players of Florida. The football powerhouse Lakeland (ranked #3 in the nation) will have to prove that they are deserving of there hype when they play Hillsborough. Other national ranked teams like Armwood (#18) and dale county (barley missing the top 25), Florida football should be exciting. Since Florida is so big, I will break florida football down into 8 categories: 1b, 1a, 2b, 2a, 3a, 4a, 5a, and 6a.

1b:
Top Ten 1B Teams
1. Evangel
2. First Academy
3. Warner
4. Hollywood
5. Upperoom
6. Graceville
7. FAMU
8. Eaglesview
9. Keswick
10. Quincy Monroe

1-B is a very competitive divison, But compared to other divisons in florida, they are cupcakes, look for Evangel and Warner to have stellar seasons and make a run at the state championship.

1-A:

1-a top 10
1. NFC
2. Ft. Meade
3. Glades Day
4. Bay Point (rough school, doesn't know year in year out who will play)
5. - 10. will be a crap shoot. AHS Boca, will compete now that Bueno is there, and with a few more kids thay can get back to the top. Benjamin claims to be on the rebound, but I believe they have shot their load.

look for NFC to win state easily. Really this is no contest.

2-b:

Trying to determine who might be the top 10 teams in the state in 2B this year should be hard but here it is:

South
Pahokee
John Carroll
Kings Academy
CCC
Berkeley Prep

Others with potential: Parkway Academy, Florida Christian, Florida Air Academy, Cardinal Mooney. any others?

North
Union County
Blountstown
Trinity Catholic
Vernon
Trinity Christian

Others with potential: PK Yonge, Newberry, Chiefland, Baker.

I think Trinity Christian will take it like they do every year. That team loads up on talent and put d-1 players out on the field every year.

2-A:

2-a top teams

Madison County Cowboys
Bolles Bulldogs
South Sumter Raiders
Chaminade Lions

these are the top 2-a teams in FL. These 4 teams have set themselves far ahead of any other 2-a teams.
But my prediction is Bolles. THey had the best defense in the state last year and dont look for that to change.

3-a:

3-a top teams

Monsignor Pace (Miami)
Kathleen (Lakeland)
Immokalee
Booker (Sarasota)
St Augustine
Cocoa
Pensacola
Bay (Panama City)
Dunbar (Fort Myers)

This could be very close but I am going to go with St. Augustine in a squeaker over Booker for the championship. But that is just a guess.

4-a:

4-a top teams

Nease is hands down ahead of everyone but behind them are:
1. Seffner Armwood
2. Lakeland Lake Gibson
3. Miami Booker T. Washington
4. Choctawhatchee
5. Gainesville
6. Clermont East Ridge
7. Jupiter
8. Tampa Middleteon
9. Pensacola
10. Lake City Columbia

Nease will be on espn being the first highschool team to every have there game nationaly telivised live on espn.
My prediction is Nease with ease. Best qb in the nation with one of the best defenses in the nation equal championship.

5-a:

5-a top teams

1. Lakeland (#3 in the nation)
2. Naples
3. Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas
4. Daytona Beach Mainland
5. Tampa Hillsborough
6. Palm Beach Gardens Dwyer
7. Miami Edison
8. Naples Barron Collier
9. Melbourne
10. Winter Springs

My prediction is that Lakeland wins the 5-a state championship by a land slide. Napels could give them a run for there money, But with lakelands great junior running back in chris rainey, I really doubt that anyone could challenge them.

6-a:

6-a top teams

1- Central
2- Carol City
3- South Dade
4- Plantation
5- HML
6- Edgewater
7- Deerfield
8- NW (people are crazy to overlook the west- you never know)
9- Killian (defending champs- lost a lot from last yr)
10-Lake Brantley
10-Norland

Dont overlook south dade and East ridge, they can be forces to be reckond with. Look for carol city to be the Force to reckond with. this is where the stars are made, but look for killian to rebound even though they lost some big stars last year. I will go with Carol city over south dade.

New jersey pre season football-

New jersey may not have the rich tradition as other states, But football is football and in New Jersey it is a way of life for highschoolers. New jersey highschool's all play on the same level and divison, so there is no 1-a or 6-a. Here are the top 25 teams from New Jersey

1 - Middletown South: it's theirs to lose.

2 - St. Joe's (Montvale): should have outstanding line.

3 - Cherokee: experienced team in tough division.

4 - Don Bosco: may be a year away.

5 - Elizabeth: very talented bunch, with top RB Warren.

6 - Phillipsburg: very tough.

7 - Bergen Catholic: not as good as last year, but still good.

8 - Jackson: experienced team that went to Group 4 Finals.

9 - Piscataway: will find a way to reload.

10 - Washington Township: good program.

11- Sayreville: again, good program.

12 - St. Joe's, Hammonton: well coached and physically strong.

13 - Raritan: lose some, but have Manderville and Fitzgerald.

14 - Hillsborough: supposed to have good defense.

15 - West Deptford: good South Jersey program, without the publicity up north.

16 - Ramapo: good senior class.

17 -St. Peter's Prep: experienced line with Griffin running ball.

18 - Shawnee: excellent program, but lost many.

19 - Deptford: another good South Jersey program.

20 - Passaic Tech: they're supposed to be loaded, their every 3 to 4 year team.

Sleeper Team: Woodrow Wilson: they have major talent.

Honorable Mention: Brick Memorial, Seton Hall Prep, Carteret, Morristown, Wayne Hills, Eastern, Queen of Peace, Westwood, Morristown, Morris Knolls, Irvington, and Delsea

My Prediction is middletown south To win the state championship easily over Cherokee. Many think that Cherokee will struggle in their tough divison but I feel that once in the playoffs, they can make a run. But it is basically like friday night lights and middletown south is dallas carter. They are that good!
