The Official Purdue at Tennessee Game Thread- 1PM

Moberg flies out, Youngblood up, strikes out...Top 9, Bettencourt gets the chance to close it out.

Make that 2 K's, and another! It's over... Vols take the series from Purdue with a chance to sweep tomorrow at 4 PM.

Vols are 2-0 after day 1.

Pitching staff, 2 runs on 6 hits in two games!

GBO!

Final score 20-2

20 runs on 23 hits.

Good to see you back this year vol66.

Anyone know how good Purdue is expected to be? What a great start to the season!

I don't, been waiting to check out a B10 Conference preview. This is the first time Purdue has been outside, so something to keep in mind.

Their pitching looked about like ours last year, relatively same ERA going into today.

They do play LSU coming up, so we'll have that to compare.

UNLV will be a better test imo.

Still, very good opening day for the Vols.

I thought the lefty that started game one for them looked really good and after that they kinda fell apart. The couple of shots we hit back at them had to rattle them to.

I did not get to watch as much as I wanted to last year but this team really seems to have to have some speed. Is this a big upgrade over last year or were they this fast last year.

In the field it's pretty much the same guys with the exception of Maggio at 1B, Price moved to RF from 1B and Taylor Smart being a starter at 3B and Maddox moved to 2B from 3B.

Guys like Simcox, Stewart and VJax who looked like freshmen, like Jordan Rogers this season, have filled out and have more power. We LOOK like an SEC team as CDS has said. They look confident, and hesitancy can make you look slow, so maybe that has something to do with it. We hit more deep balls in this game than we did all last year, that will translate into sac flys, rather than sac bunts.

Let's see how the Vols handle tomorrow.

Game three is underway. Bot. 2 Purdue leads 1-0, with the Vols coming to the plate.

Maggio walks, bases loaded for Smart. LEGGGGGOOOBO...new pitcher for Purdue

Shultz is up, he's in the line up today taking Houser's spot in the line up, the only change from yesterday.
