Question: I have noticed umpires following behind our players ordering them to move along after a home run. Is this part of their responsibility? Is there some rule against watching your home run?
It is the responsibility of the umpire to keep up the pace of the play. I don’t think there is a steadfast rule on how fast someone has to get around the bases but an umpire can throw the next ball to the pitcher and start the next at bat as they see fit. There was a play in the 80s I think where an umpire was fed up with arguing so he setup behind the catcher and said the ball is live and he is calling strikes, then proceeded to do so. Umpires have always had too much authority.

My mom has had to have a heart ablation before but she keeps going back in AFib. She was in the hospital last week so they could monitor her while they put on tikosyn (dofetilide) to try to get her heart back in normal rhythm.
So far so good for me. I hope your Mom finds something that will help her stay in. It’s the wierdest feeling to be out of rythem.
