Surprised Curley challenged on that.

I like it tho, I think unusually aggressive base running is the next big development in baseball strategy. Think about it; teams ar willing to risk being thrown out in order to steal bases between pitches, but the only difference between stealing a base between pitches and stealing a base while the ball is live is that the former is from a set play (the pitch) but the latter has a lot of variability depending on where the ball is hit, how hard, etc.

Let your runners be aggressiv, and sort of calibrate on where they can steal an extra base. You don't have to have a 100% success rate to make it worth doing, and when it comes to some situations ("stealing" home on a live ball with 2 outs) doesn't even require a 50% success rate to be EV positiv. "Stealing" bases off the outfielders is a good skill to be developing, and we'll reap benefits if we can do it well, especially for our baserunners that aren't fast enough to get themselves traditional steals.

And challenging their outfielders regularly will generate the occasional error on a play where passivity would hav left you at 1st or 2nd.
