The SEC is in a tough spot here. Do you just go ahead and make the call now to go single elimination starting on Friday and cancel the remaining games today? Or do you try to get the next 2 games in today and hope you can get a full slate in tomorrow. If you go ahead with 2 games today, it's highly probable that tomorrow is a washout, and double elimination at that point probably isn't feasible. Then you've got the 2 losing teams today who went into the game thinking it would take 2 losses to knock them out who are all of a sudden eliminated. And you have 2 winning teams today with an advantage over the teams that wouldn't start until Friday in that guys who pitch today could be used again by Sunday, if not before.
It's a giant mess. If tomorrow's forecast still looks really bad, I would go ahead and postpone the tournament until Friday and get everyone on a level playing field
