I disagree with the first part.

Ok.

The “ideal” situation coaches work on is defense runs the runner “back” to the bag from which he came. Texas will work on the 3rd baseman running Russell back alittle more to 2nd base before he throws it to the 2nd baseman for the tag. Good execution in that situation is 1 throw and a tag with the runner going back to 2nd. If that had occurred here, Stephenson would have never been able to run to second.
