To be honest, I think Florida's defense is a bit overrated.

They made the rule because of that game.

That rule was to punish the offense if the OFFENSE committed a penalty that stopped the clock and, thusly, gave themselves a time advantage. The way they ruled this time the DEFENSE committed a penalty and they punished the offense. The refs blew it and blew it badly.
