The Official Tennessee @ Alabama Series Thread (Thurs. 3/20 7:30PM EDT ESPNU) (Fri. 3/21 7PM EDT SECNET+) (Sat. 3/22 2PM EDT SECNET+)

Early in the series. He is your Ace. You hope he makes a pitch and gets out of it.

Put it this way: if another pitcher was on the mound, would you put Doyle in for him? Probably so. LD not at 100% is still better than most.

Early in the season, let him work. Early I. The series; let him eat a few innings so your bullpen is in better shape.

Fielding is what has let us down today as much ass pitching.

Those are my thoughts as to your question.
I agree... Let him push and just see what we can get... Gone more offspeed late with the drop in fastball velocity

Single, hbp, walk. Loaded bases.

Double to the gap, bad angle by lf, cleared bases. Throw in a couple more miscues and it became a 5 run inning. Nice diving catch by Chapman in RF ended the inning without more damage.

Just not sharp anywhere tonight. Like they are used to practicing Thursday, and not playing a competitive game.

Is their field trash or something? Neither infield can catch a hot shot.
I don’t know, but it isn’t the nice predictable, consistent hop we are used to on an all turf field. Something we will have to adjust to every year in order to have the benefits of our all artificial turf field.
